  1. You have a B1. It is silver plated. If you want it to shine like new, take some silver cleaner to it. There are also threads on using Baking soda and Aluminum foil to clean it. The latter works great. Do not use the old blades the are not good. Buy some Chinese Schick blades.

Great razor. Have fun with it.

  2. Awesome, thanks. I tried to remove the blade bank but only succeeded in loading a blade in the head. Now I know how it works. Also, these Chinese Schick blades everyone talks about, are they the ones in the yellow bubble package?

One last question, for now.... is there supposed to be a cap that fits over the blade end or is this the whole thing? Blade staying exposed and all.
  3. Question one. Yes the blades in the yellow packs. They work great.

As for the cap. There is no cap for the B1 and B2. Only the rare B3 and the A and c's have caps

  4. Perfect. I have some of those already.

And holy crap! I had no idea... just a little work with some metal polish.

  5. Damn! What a difference, I didn't wanna say anything but the last pics it looked like a POS. :happy097:
  6. Agreed. But not knowing what it's supposed to be, the patina looked decent to me. But this is so much better now. There is a bit of plating loss on the face above the blade though. Down to mostly copper.

  7. Plating loss is to be expected with a razor of this age but wow! Night and day difference, it looks amazing now. :signs107:
  8. A little plate loss isnt bad for an 85 year old razor! beautiful!
  9. You have a great friend. Congrats on a fantastic score.

  12. Very nice! I always liked the look of repeaters. Metal polish is one of the best ways to clean vintage razors IMO as long as it is safe for the particular surface.
  13. Nice haul. I really like the jar.

  17. Nice! its my understanding the the L side is most aggressive and the H side is least aggressive. Kinda counter intuitive. I use mine right in the middle and it was just right for me.
