I have always gone down 2 mm from the size of the hole. This is to allow for expansion.

Perfect. I will go that route then. 22mm it is. I plan on getting a Boar,, synthetic and a 2 band badger.

The 22mm will be a perfect fit for that hole, Tom. Also, I suggest setting it with silicone. It makes changing much easier if you ever want to change.

IMHO you may want to keep the Badger knots at a 50 mm loft. Let some others comment on this.

What is your opinion on loft for a Badger knot?

I set mine about 52 mm. It is great for face lathering.

I face lather too so I can start there. I will set them in silicone.
