Thank you Doug. Yesterday's visit with Mom was great. My wife and I enjoyed spending the day with her. Have wonderful Sunday.
To commemorate the 500th page anniversary of this thread, here is my collection of injector and se razors. When I first found this thread I had only acquired the white handled G and the Gem 1912. Thanks to Gents like Roby and their beautiful shave of the day pics, my collection has grown by one or two Happy 500th to one of the most interesting and entertaining threads in all of Shavedom
Thanks Roby! Looking forward to including an N, Injectomatic, and a Personna Super Stainless in the future
I have been eyeing the Personna SS injector as well. I've been wondering if it will take a twin blade. If anyone knows please chime in.
SOTD July 31, 2016 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick Adjustable Injector (on pass-around from @twhite) Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic Lather: TSD Tabac-type (sample) Post: Witch hazel splash, Mennen Skin Bracer, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, XTG Nice, smooth, close shave. I set the Schick on 5 again as I did yesterday and let it roll. Beautiful lather from TSD Tabac-type soap provided the backdrop for a great shave. These pass-arounds and razor loans surely don't help RAD!! I really like this adjustable and perhaps will own one soon. I'm trying to be really frugal at the moment (we have a 19-month old.....enough said!) so it would have to be a really great deal or a trade. But, no rush! I'll probably want an Injectomatic after trying it later this week on the next pass-around. The rabbit hole is deep!!! I will say now with complete confidence that I'm an injector and SE convert. I haven't thought about or even been tempted to shave with a DE razor in the past two months. I think that speaks for itself! I just get better, closer, and more comfortable shaves with a straight edge. Have a great day!
Sunday Shave Brush- Semogue 620 Razor- Ever-Ready 1924 Blade- GEM Soap- Stirling Barbershop Post Care- Crystal Alum Thayers Witch Hazel Osage Rub Bombed Florida Water My first shave with the 1924 and I'm very impressed. I had a hard time getting the blade to stay put but I adjusted the clips in the head and it held firm. Three passes today and I couldn't be smoother. I think the hair may have recessed a bit out of fear of this razor. Very efficient with wonderful blade feel and very audible feedback. I highly enjoyed this shave. I'm still trying to figure out the 620, I think I'm loading it too dry. I had a fairly thin lather when usually the Stirling is nice and thick. There are many differences between this brush and my synthetics, I just need to spend more time with it. Once I get it loaded with the proper amount of soap it feels good on my face and produces a nice lather. The alum was barely noticeable and the finish of Osage Rub and bombed Florida Water might be my favorite. Have a great day folks!
I'm thinking about starting a Hussy pass around. It's only user grade but would anyone be interested?
In honor of 500 plus pages sorry a little late. My Injectors My Gem and Ever Ready Razors My Rolls Razor that was my dads NOS Valet Auto Strop Razor And some SE blades and a unknown razor Ken P
Hmm...never thought about that. Then again, I've never tried a twin either. Guess that would be another to add to the list Roby
Ben, I would love to try it!! I have a Schick Adjustable in a pass-around right now from @twhite and will be getting the Injectomatic in his other pass-around later this week. Pass-arounds are GREAT opportunities to try hardware or software risk free. I would be very interested!
