  1. Karl, the dial looks set pretty high there buddy. Maybe tone it down a bit? :)

  2. Yeah, I turned it down a notch for the final pass but that setting is what usually works well for me. This is one of my favorite razors so I am sure it was just a blip. Schick blades usually last about 4 or 5 shaves for me so that could be part of it too. I'm going to try it again with Haslingers and see what happens. Besides, I'm wanting to use up whatever is left in this blade so I can put this one into a pass around. :)

  3. Lately I have been tossing them after 4 shaves. I definitely think going with the Haslinger is a fine idea. Isn't it wonderful?! :love055:

  4. I have a lot of good shave creams and soaps but nothing comes close to touching the Haslinger... :happy036:
  5. That will be a great pass around razor. It will test your shaving skill for sure. Looking forward to seeing peoples replies on this one.

    Way to go Karl.:bounce017:

    Today's Shave: Monday August 1, 2016

    Schick Type O (Chinese Knock-off)
    NOS Schick Twin blade (1)
    The Grooming Co. synthetic brush
    LA Shaving Soap Co. Blackfern
    Fine American Blend aftershave

Today I revisited my Schick Type O clone, this time loaded with a Twin blade. No surprise here, it had the same effect as loading a Twin blade into one of the late model Schicks, bumping it up several notches in aggressiveness while remaining buttery smooth. My usual 3 pass shave, followed by a little touch-up work, produced a very nice BBS shave. This one's a keeper. :happy088:

Too bad that the Twin Blades are not easier to get. (Fortunately, I have a pretty good supply.)

  13. Hi Bob,
Keep us posted on use of Twins. The Supplier said twins would not work in it ,which put me off a bit.
  14. I have one loaded with a Japanese Schick, and will be interested to see how that goes.

  16. For sure keep us posted. I am very curious about the Japanese blades. Single and twins.

  17. I just received an Ever Ready 1914 today, which I should be trying out shortly. It came with a clip(?) to hold the blade. Does anyone use this? Looks a bit accident prone to load.

  18. Any pics - not sure what the "clip" is you are referring to. :signs002:
  19. Here are some bad pics. I'll see about better ones later
