I got the SWR acronym, but what's a SWRA? Aromatic? Stepping into the World of Pipes has me learning a whole new lexicon. Has anyone typed up a cheat sheet? Links plox!
Visited my better stocked local supplier today. With a little more experience behind me I sniffed his offerings. Stock includes many Peterson's in bulk (covered containers?). Knowing I am enjoying University Flake I put it on their WTB list. I've taken to rolling the flake into a Altoids tin to allow a bit of dehumidifing prior to packing. I had just that and shared a sniff of mine with the counter guy. After sample sniffing his offerings, I chose Connoissuer's Choice. When I returned home and read about it, the reviews suggest I may have chosen well. With the caution to pack lightly after a short period of drying.
Just a heads up because I've seen a few of you post pics of it, Cigars International has Drew Estates tins on sale for $5.99 each. It's under the MSRP-B-QUE sale.
Peterson Connoisseur's Choice in a $2.49 cob with a fresh Softy gum rubber bit. Tomorrow morning I've got a 84 mile drive to my aunts country home in Texas. I'll try another bowl of this, but going to go slow. This blend really heats up.
My softie bits are cracking and falling apart. I haven't had them that long. Must be the unique weather up here in the mountains.
I wandered a bit on my ride to my aunt's farm. Picked up an Apolo in what to my eye appears to be in good condition. A week or so I'll return home an start the process of cleaning and restoration. Via Kyocera / Tapatalk
I've purchased about $100 in the store, it was a decent shop. Too bad. On another note, the sushi place across the street is really pretty good.
I've never been in. I guess they've been trying to sell because they want to retire. I don't make it to Armory much, even when I lived closer.
Nice! I'm not familiar with those, but hopefully it will be a winner! In my experience, Everclear or it's equivalent will prove superior to an 80 proof liquor for salt cleaning. And I believe @DDuckyMark has used a high isopropyl rubbing alcohol with good results.
Chacom night! Chris inspired me to get my Chacom Canadian out, loaded with McClellan 27, matured Virginia. I've become a fan of McClelland's higher end Virginias! This is much better after some time after tin opening. I have no doubt that it would be even more superb if aged for a year in a glass jar. Tony
