    Dove Men Face Wash
    TABAC
    Jayaruh #86
    Pal Injecto-Matic
    Schick Injector
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    T.N. Dickinson's WH
    Aqua Velva Musk AS

The TABAC Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #86 Sunrise synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Pal Injecto-Matic razor with an Schick Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Aqua Velva Musk After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  8. Ok, so the problem with a synthetic IMO is the lack of water in the knot. That's why I cannot hydrate the lather as much as I like. The lather on the outside of the knot is the way I like it, but then I need to add always a bit more water for subsequent passes.

The only drawbacks of the horse knot IMO are the fact that you need to soak it (not as long as a boar, but still a couple of minutes) and that the hair can tangle.

So I use strictly the tips of the brush when loading/lathering and none of the mashing business. I do the same now with all my brushes any way.

My last 4 shaves were with 4 different hair types. The only one that can compete with my (Paladin, Shavemac, etc) badgers is the horse - in terms of face feel AND lather quality.

It needs a bit more work, especially loading (maybe because I only have 2-bands in the den) but the resulting lather is equally great. And this knot is as pillow soft as it gets.

  11. SHAVE OF THE DAY

    Prep: Musgo Real orange amber
    Razor: Gillette Redtip
    Blade: Royal Red (2nd shave)
    Brush: omega s synthetic
    Soap: PDP no.63
Post: Ogallala Bay Rum Lime & Peppercorns

3 pass shave this morning. Love the scent of no63 but sometimes have performance troubles, we'll not today. Whipped up a decent lather, but this blade is a bit rough so ended up with some irritation. Finished off with Ogallala which burned like the breath of Satan from the rough shave. Hope everyone else has much better luck than I did today.
