Had a late afternoon shave today as I'm heading out early in the morning.
The Olympics inspired me to use my Gillette 2012 London Olympics LE Gold Fusion
It was a surprisingly great shave

Tonight's shave courtesy of my Streamline. Last time I used it I learned that, as a newer version model, it was built to take modern SE blades. So, that's what I fired up tonight. This is a very smooth razor. Reduction was OK on first pass, above average on second pass, and the third pass left next to nothing for touch ups. An outstanding shave. :happy036:

Night Music. It smells as beautiful as it looks. It's like a naughty Lavanille. I've previously described Night Music thusly:

Tonight there was a large and rather loud crowd gathering and a lot of hollering and yelling coming from my shave den. It seems that the SE razors had ganged up on the Injectors and were threatening to destroy them. It seems like the SEs were not impressed with all the bench time they were receiving and the Injectors getting the call to action. So to calm things down a little bit I choser to call my Gem Damaskeene SE to action. Outfitted with a modern Gem SE blade the 7days worth of stubble fell away effortlessly. A 2 pass shave routine and I'm BBS and refreshed. Saving the chin stubble for a new Goatee that is way whiter than it should be but I'll see what it looks a couple weeks down the road.

    Razor - English Gillette oc
Blade - Gillette platinum plus (5)
    Brush - kenzo reknotted badger
Soap - razorock lavender essential oil
    Post - Nivea sensitive men
    A/S - lilac veg.

What a great shave this morning. My posting is kind of late . I have several OC Gillette razors and most don't shave well for me. But this one... Wow! I couldn't tell if the razor was shaving . I couldn't feel the blade at all. Now I did get a few weepers and some irritation but that was at the end trying to get bbs. But up to that point it was smooth. The only issue with this razor is the handle. It's very thin and a little cumbersome to hold. But other than that, it performed well.
The blade is holding up fairly well. No issues at all. The soap was fantastic today. A lot of slickness and it was the first time I have been able to get slickness out of it. I bloomed the soap for 45 mins. I left a small amount of water and loaded it with a damp brush that I rung out most of the water. A 30 second load and a two minute bowl lather created enough lather for three people to shave with.

    Happy shaving gents!!

Yeah I shave the same way as with a DE/SE razor - first WTG and then ATG.

    Hello all, here's a look at today's SOTD;

1948-50 Gillette Milord Rocket (made in USA)
    Gillette Silver Blue Blade.
    Kent BLK2 badger brush.
Maggards artisan London Barbershop shave soap.
    Nivea post shave balm.
    Avon Mesmerize aftershave lotion.
    Avon Mesmerize cologne.

This is only my second shave with this Gillette USA made Rocket, and it seemed as if I have been shaving with it all my life. What a comfortable fit/feel! The London Barbershop soap went on incredibly fluidly, providing a great slick protective layer of lather, which the Rocket loaded with the GSB blade zipped right through, mowing down whiskers like a knife through butter. The Nivea post shave balm soothed the very few sore spots and I topped that off five minutes later with the Avon Mesmerize aftershave lotion. Patted my face dry and applied the matching Avon Mesmerize cologne, for a grand finish! I just love the medley of scents provided by the various products I used. I am truly blessed. And God Bless you all, have a great day!
