Now that everybody try getting a wolfman, I reassert my ATT M2. It was a difficult training for me cause my R89 and multiblades were milder than this steel stuff, but it worths the effort and by now is my second to none steel OC. August 13, 2016 Wolfman WR-01 Ti OC with Hempel Ti Feather (3) Simpson CH2 Synthetic Route 66 Frozen Margarita Witch Hazel Folsom & Co Shambala Route 66 Frozen Margarita AS Balm A wonderful shave this morning and a great start to the weekend. For me the CH2 Synthetic is almost perfect with great backbone and the soft tips expected of modern synthetic brushes. It is the most badger like of any synthetic brush I have tried. The Frozen Margarita soap provided a great slick lather with a light cooling effect I appreciated on such a muggy morning. I seem to have finally dialed in this Wolfman with its increased blade gap. For me I have discovered a steeper angle works best and provides a much closer and smoother shave. After the normal 3 passes, I had a near BBS shave. Since I had time, I chased the baby with minimal touch ups. The best shave to date with this razor. Finished up with a splash of F&C Shambala followed by the Route 66 AS Balm. This Gillette short comb has been sitting on my shelf since I first started collecting razors and I never used it, until today. I put in a Rapira Swedish Supersteel blade and had a great BBS shave. No irritation at all and very smooth. This razor and blade combo worked very well for a comfortable shave..............
August 14, 2016 Timeless OC with Triad Feather (1) Simpson CH2 Synthetic Route 66 Perfect Storm Witch Hazel Floid Blue The Route 66 Perfect Storm is a light crisp scent that just seems to go with the warm weather. Like all of the Route 66 soaps it is very easy to lather and slick. Sticking with a 3 traditional 3 pass shave, WTG, XTG and ATG ended in a near BBS. Since I had the time, I went back and touched up my trouble spots and ended with a smooth irritation free BBS shave. Finished up the shave with a splash of Floid Blue. August 15, 2016 Timeless OC with Triad Feather (2) Simpson CH2 Synthetic Route 66 Frozen Margarita Witch Hazel Route 66 Frozen Margarita AS Balm Now that I have the angle dialed in the Timeless OC razor is really starting to shine. The angle required is steeper than my other razors which took me time to figure out. The Timeless OC seems to have a wider sweet spot on the angle than my Wolfman OC with increased blade gap. Using a steeper angle the shave with the TROC is very smooth and super efficient. In fact it rivals my Cobra Classic for closeness and efficiency. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
Bought this on a whim and I wasn't sure what it was or what I was getting into... Cue the hot soapy water and a toothbrush (and that's it!) I'll be darned if there wasn't a pretty razor hiding under all that green gunk... Pretty happy with this one! P.S. It shaves tomorrow!
August 16, 2016 Timeless OC with Triad Feather (3) Tres Amigos Elite Ironwood with Envy White Route 66 Perfect Storm Witch Hazel Myrsol F/Extra Whipped Shea Butter Another fantastic shave with the Timeless OC. Sticking with a 3 pass shave with minimal touch ups ended in a BBS. Since I figured out the correct angle TROC has proven to be one of my most comfortable and efficient DE razors. I finished off the shave with a splash of Myrsol F/Extra followed by some whipped shea butter. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
