Beware of anybody telling you that you're about to come into a huge amount of money from an inheritance from somebody in the following African countries:

1) Nigeria
2) Zimbabwe
3) Cote D'Ivoire
4) Senegal
5) Cameroon
6) Ghana
7) Botswana
8) South Africa

It's a SUPER big scam.

 

I tuned in and figured someone forgot to pay the Nigerian scammers.

I saw it too Joseph. What could the motivation be? This is a shave enthusiasts site, very odd.....

 

As mentioned, HTTPS won't do much to prevent vulnerabilities in the back end but I'm pretty surprised that it hasn't already been implemented. It's only for the security of users so that our login information isn't being sent unencrypted to the server. I hope that everyone is using a unique password for these forums. To the TSD staff, I strongly recommend taking a look at Let's Encrypt, which provides an extremely easy means for acquiring a free certificate. I've been using it on my own domains for months now without any issues and it couldn't be easier.

As for restoring the site, thanks for your work. I really enjoy these forums so thanks for working to keep things running.

But, the rest of the description is accurate.

 

Not sure I understand the need to call out certain countries - and indirectly their citizens. People should be weary of any such messages regardless if its from someone in Ghana, Norway or USA.

 

I have family in South Africa. Are you telling me it's fake money from my uncle?
