Back to my wedges today. Shave 7 on my Henckels blade. First shave with my Heckles razor. The shave was pretty smooth, but not as smooth as the last shaves. Finished with a DFS on 3 passes no touchups. So I decided to give it a few laps on my Chromium strop, then 100 on my regular strop. I will see how it goes on my next shave.
Thu. 8/18/16 Wonderful shave this morning with the PAL Injecto-Matic. Excellent beautifully scented lather from the Van Yulay "Jared' shave soap. Three easy passes for a dolphin smooth finish. I am smooth and refreshed. Have a great day guys.
SOTD August 18, 2016 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick Type H Brush: Artisan badger Lather: Country Club Cahaba Blues Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Not quite as efficient as yesterday's shave. Still pretty smooth in the end but needed a little more touch-up than usual. The Schick H is a unique razor! I'm getting more and more used to it and am enjoying trying it out. Hope you have a great day!

Not really Jim. The injectors especially the PAL Injecto-Matic and the PAL Adjustable have been the "holy grail" for me shave wise. Perfect shaves everytime and effortlessly so. ............
I'll start by saying the shave was great. The razor was unlike any other I have. The feedback in general is very different from other razors. It makes a unique sound, and quite a bit of it. But, what I really noticed was the tactil feedback it provides. Like no other razor, this one really transmits the feel of the razor cutting to my hand. It is different than I have come to expect. I suspect there is just a bit more flex in this design than other razors, but this is just a guess. The angle of the razor is similar to that of a Schick Repeating Razor, which again takes a bit of readjustment as I haven't used my Repeaters in a while. Once I got comfortable with that, the shave was smooth. I kept marveling at how I could hear and feel the shave. The lather just rolled up into the well (seems like an appropriate term, but please correct me if there is an actual name for it). I never had any lather wanting to drip down my arm, which is not usually the case. The size of the head is a bit cumbersome in tight areas such as under the nose, but I can work around this. All in all, it was a very good shave. The coolness and beauty factor of this razor is hard to top, IMO. After one shave, I know it shaves well. I need a little more time to see what it is really capable of, though. It is a fairly mild shaver. To me, using razors that are over 100 years old is plain awesome. Using one that shaves like this is like cream cheese icing on the cake.
Well, I think this has been an interesting journey for many of us. I know that I haven't picked up a DE in over a month now and plan on using the PAL injectomatic all of next week. This week's razor has been the PAL adjustable. After the injectomatic, I'm planning on using my Gem Micromatic or my Damaskeene. I wonder what I'm going to do with all of those DEs in my den?
I hear you! Hey, this hobby is one of the few opportunities for many of us to escape all of the other issues going on in our lives, at least for 10 minutes every day!
