I hesitate to post this here, as it was a failed attempt at honing that resulted in me using a Gillette Diplomat to finish up. But, I used a Damascus Razor, which I am not sure where it is from. Couldn't get halfway through my first cheek before I gave up.
I'm working on my honing too. I haven't used my straight for a couple of days. The phone rang while I was shaving, and I did an Edward Scissor Hands on my cheek. I might give it a go tonight.
The last shave I had with a straight resulted in a but of nasty cut on my mustache area. That was a few weeks ago.
I recently acquired the same razor..... but mine does not look as nice. It looks even more like one in person, very scary. But it can double for personal protection.
This TI has plenty of miles on it (and the common blade/tang pitting you see in many of these old TI models). Cosmetics aside, it still shaves beautifully! THAT I can believe…
Alright guys, here goes. Soap- Yardley Bar soap(first pass) Arko(next two passes) Brush- Zenith Boar, aluminum handle. Razor- Gold Dollar 300 Aftershave- Yardley Gold I honed and stropped this razor from the start. It is one that I learned to hone and strop on. Great shave, with no cuts or weapers. Also, no irritation after.

Shave 8. First shave with my ERN 1934 with a fresh hone from @Billyfergie. It was really helpful to have a high quality hone from someone whose work you know. It was a slightly better edge than my Never Fail but the same grind. So, what happened? I learned that my biggest opportunities for improved shaves come from me and not the razor. It was a slightly better shave than the day before but not revolutionary. No surprise but Darn! Keep at it Karl. The shaves do improve. Since @Billyfergie honed that razor, you've got a fine tool to work with. Keep focusing on your technique and remember, only 92 more shaves to go till you get to that 100th shave!
