Shave 9 today. I went back to the Never Fail today. I'm saving the ERN for now until my technique gets better. The end result was slightly better again. But my focus for now has shifted to improving the first pass reduction. The Lucky Tiger/Rubby Dubby Doo combination is made in heaven! A wonderful weekend to everyone in advance!
Another brilliant #SOTD with the 0.68mm scalloped @Timelessrazor base plate Here it's coupled with a BRW handle - just to mix things up
Decided to try out the Canadian Bostonian razor that I got today with a Rapira Swedish Supersteel blade. FS Badger brush, Menthol PSO, Proraso Green, Witch Hazel and Stetson Black After Shave Balm. This was a great combination that gave me an excellent BBS shave. All I can compare it to is a Fatboy vs. a Superspeed. It seems that the extra weight of this razor compared to my other open combs really gives it an extra edge while shaving.
It is a great store. Excellent selection and nice staff customer service. I am lucky enough to be somewhat close, something I do not take fir granted. There is a pharmacy in NY called Pausers or something like that, they have a good selection on the east coast. Smallflower is another in the Chicago area.
SHAVE OF THE DAY Prep: Occams crushed lime Razor: Icon X3/ Maggard Blade: Persona Med Prep (2nd shave) Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetc Soap: Viking Citron Post: Reef Point Admiralty Balm Second shave with Viking soap, this time I went with the Citroën sample. The sample tin is a nice size tin with a nice amount of soap. The Citron has a nice menthol touch, not too stronG but just the right amount. The Fine Brush was prefect for loadinG from this tin. Added a bit more water than yesterday and was rewarded with super slick lather, almost dropped the razor a few times. Super stoked about this newcomer to the den, the people at Viking have done their homework and made a great formula. Very happy with their soap. Got a great shave and finished off with Admiralty Balm for a cool menthol post shave. Hope everyone else had great results as well.
