    Dove Men Face Wash
    Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Jayaruh #90
    Edwin Jagger DE 89
    Wilkinson Sword Super Sword-Edge
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    T.N. Dickinson's WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

I usually will switch setups after seven days, but I am liking this one so much I will be continuing it for a while. The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #90 Tuxedo synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Edwin Jagger DE 89 razor with a Wilkinson Sword Super Sword-Edge Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Pinaud Vegetal After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  3. The Friday Shave Plan:

    prep-Nivea 4 Men(in shower)
    shave-Rise Super Foam**
    razor-Gillette Sensor 2 Pivot + DisposeABLE*****
    A.S.-Mennen Skin Bracer original

**it's neat to realize that I now am "grandfathering" this particular shave cream. Rise International isn't selling the white cans anymore, they now have the smaller blue. Out with the old, they say, but I still have 6 cans of "old" to go, plus the one I'm using now.

*****I need to get more this week-end.

Brush: Shavemac 23mm D02 Buffalo Horn
    Bowl: Buffalo Horn 6"

    Shave Soap: PannaCreama PURE2O DFS
    Post: Monster Alum Block
Aftershave: Extro Rasoio E Pennello Summer 2015

  5. I ALWAYS like seeing aftershaves showing barbershop poles-even if it they are new. I'd like to see the new Clubman company put poles on their aftershaves. Booster has them-as does Stephan, and those companies have been around while(like Clubman).

    Grand Blade Trial

    Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (2)
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - Semogue 620
    Post - Alum, The Veg

Onward and forward to the next blade. The Treet Double Edge Blade, otherwise known as the "Black Beauty". This is a carbon steel blade that I have always liked so I'm interested to try it in the different settings. Back to the Semogue 620 for another great Arko lather. Still amazed at how well this brush is performing.

First pass and I noticed a difference from past uses of the blade. Where's the audible? No velcro sound, or very light sound. What's up? This blade usually sings since it's a carbon. The next thing I noticed was....where's the reduction? Didn't really feel any different at the end of the pass. Something is up here.

Second pass XTG and the same thing. Quiet and only minimal reduction it seemed. Third pass ATG and Gillette Slide and other touch ups and I managed a CCS. Well, I would say the carbon blade doesn't like the mild setting of the razor. I know there is a constant debate on which is sharper, carbon or stainless, and I'll be doing some deep research into that. From a practical standpoint, though, CCS was the best I could do at a 2 on the Slim. Looking forward to the 6 tomorrow to help verify my thinking.

Hope you all had a great day!

  11. Friday's shave will be with:

    Omega boar brush,
    Merkur Progress w/Astra SP blade,
    Captain's Choice aftershave.

  12. Fri 26th Aug
    Vulfix 404 mixed
    Vitos Red croap
    Mercer Progress LH
    Personna Lab Blue [ 2 ]
    Alum Rub/Rinse off
    Myrsol Antesol A/S

Glad I went down the Adjustable route when I restarted DE shaving. Though I never change settings much , I find their extra weight assists the shave go well, as one can use that weight so no pressure is needed.

The Progress as usual with no shave errors, delivered a really good all round shave.

Wow! What a great shave this morning with the Schick N1 fitted with a twin blade. Guys these Palmolive creams easily produce some of the best lather out of anything in my arsenal. This is the cool menthol version, the original version is just as good. I'm begging you to pick up a tube of Palmolive shave cream. You'll thank me. :D Three easy passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day friends. :happy069:
