Razor: Timeless OC w/Hempel Ti Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (7) Brush: El Druida Redheart, Chakte Kok/African Blackwood 2 Band Soap: Route 66 Lumberjack Aftershave: Fine Platinum Another excellent shave with these products. Three passes with a lite touch up and done like dinner. Fine Platinum is always a great way to finish a shave IMO. Have a good evening.
If you`re referring to Montgomery Ward. We always said "Monkey" ward. We always had a "Monkey Ward" catalogue in our home. It was 20 miles to the nearest Montgomery Ward store. My parents ordered things they couldn`t get locally, even baby chicks. Hope I`m on the right track here. With regards. Bill
Thanks, a little worried I had missed something. Those were the days. Rough sledding at times, but boy did we have fun. Bill
Sunday's Dove Men Face Wash Mitchell's Wool Fat Jayaruh #90 Edwin Jagger DE 89 Wilkinson Sword Super Sword-Edge CWR, Asma Alum Block T.N. Dickinson's WH Pinaud Vegetal The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #90 Tuxedo synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Edwin Jagger DE 89 razor with a Wilkinson Sword Super Sword-Edge Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Pinaud Vegetal After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
27aug16 I used the Stahly head on a different stainless handle today. I also changed the blade from the Kai to an Astra SS that I know shaves good for me. Shave was a lot less aggressive today. Good two passes results.

Shave number 10. Wow, we have a winner. I refreshed the hone on a newly purchased SR and everything started to fall into place. In a little bit of synchronicity I had my phone in my pocket and it pocket dialed Spotify which started playing, Knocking on Heaven's Door. Appropriate as I got a glimpse of shaving nirvana tonight. Nearly every stroke was smooth and I felt I was whipping around a Schick D on my face. First pass reduction was way better than usual and the end result the best yet. A few weepers from my wild abandon but nothing needed any real attention. Awesome Adjustable Arko August!!!! August 27 Grand Blade Trial Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (9) Blade - (3) Soap - Arko Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip Post - Alum, The Veg Final day on the Treet Double Edge. Started with a close inspection of the blade. The rust hadn't encroached on the edge so I decided to use it on the final day. Apparently my alcohol trick worked over the past few days. Still, at the first sign of major problems, I can switch to a new blade. The Wolf did a great job with the lather. As good as the 620, just a much softer feeling. Nice way to start the day. And, on the first stroke with the Slim at 9 I knew the blade was good to go. A bit smoother than yesterday, although I could change that by just adjusting angle. Staying just off the cap gave me a very noisy but comfortable shave. Clearly it was a carbon by the sound and feel, but a very nice feel. Two passes had the DFS, the third pass got me nearly to BBS. I don't think I've ever gotten the Black Beauty to catch the baby. But, a very good finish for the blade. The sharpness of this blade, or lack thereof, is perfect for an aggressive setup and I do like the nostalgia of using a carbon blade. I usually keep a couple around in case I decide to go old school. Now I have a better idea which razor to use. The Slim wide open is a great choice, and even at 6 or better does a great job. Treet, of course, is from Pakistan and not only is the blade a great one, but they are really classy with their food service on the train as well. Day off tomorrow and I'm figuring out what to use. In the meantime it's nearly my Friday and I'm ready for it. Labor Day is next weekend so another major sale is lurking. Hope your weekend is going well!
