Aug. 28/2016 Sunday Razor: Schick Injector J1 Blade: Ted Pella (1) Lather: Nivea Shave Gel A/S: Nivea After Shave Balm/Brut Newspaper Date: Oct. 25,1944 A very interesting shave this Morn. A 2 pass, tripping the light fantastic around my wound. With the shave gel, I was able to navigate around the boo boo with my fingers, and then carefully avoiding the affected area. The shave: 1st pass, totally WTG, smooth. easy with Lady J, no hang ups anywhere, and able to skirt the wound. 2nd pass, ATG/XTG with clean up. Wherever I touched her to my skin was smooth and felt so good, those areas are definitely BBS. I still have a small patch unshaven. It is what it is, luck to the rest. Bill

My SOTD A wonderful shave this morning. I'm still trying to get the hang of using SE razors. My face could of used the day off, but I enjoy shaving daily. The razor isn't as aggressive to me as I have read. The blade is still going strong as I have about 6 shaves on it. The badger whipped up a great lather. For the first time since getting this soap, I was able to get a slick lather out of it. Although it's never a dry lather, it just wasn't slick. I loaded the brush straight from the tin for a couple of seconds. Normally I would grab an almond size dollop from it and either out it into a bowl or into the brush. I think I like this new method better. This knot does need more water and it stores a lot of lather in it. All in all a great shave. A little irritation as I felt the veg burn my skin. But my skin was a little tender from yesterday and I'm still trying to figure out my angle. I'm a happy camper. Happy shaving gents !
SATURDAY'S SHAVE Prep: Musgo Real orange amber Razor: Gillette Single Ring OC Blade: Persona Med Prep Brush: AOS Badger Soap: Tabac Aftershave: Soap Smooth-Frankincense & Myrrh Balm: Soap Commander Endurance My father found this AOS Brush at a estate sale for $.50 new in the box. The only other badger Brush I have tried was a different AOS Brush that I was having a lot of problems with. Fortunately this one worked much better. Got a nice lather from Tabac, but the blade/Razor combo did not work out well. Lots of redness and irritation. The Endurance Balm was like a life saver. SUNDAY SHAVE OF THE DAY Prep: gustafsons woodlands Razor: Gillette Redtip Blade: Persona Med Prep Brush: Maggard 24mm synthetic Soap: Viking- Ironside Post: Thayers Peach WH Balm: HEV Cognac & Cuban Cigars 3 pass shave this morning. Absolutely love the performance of the Viking soap, and the scent of Ironside is manly and very nice. Super slick lather with little effort. This soap can take a lot of water. Got a much better shave than yesterday. Ended up with a dolphin smooth BBS shave, finished off with Cognac & Cuban Cigars Balm which was a great finish for a perfect shave. Hope everyone else has the same results!
Thanks. When matched with a mild head it worked out. Also the feeling that I participated in the milling and design gave me that added feeling. The machinist student I worked with starts a job Monday. Good for him. I need to find another teacher to do some more projects.
Glad to hear you and your family were sparred any losses. Very good of you to give tribute to others near you and to all those who helped in the response.
