Somewhere in there is a razor... And another new soap. You, my friend, are really broadening your horizons.
No complaints about today's shave - smooth as a baby's tukhis from two easy passes with my Parker R22 and the Astra blade. This Plissoft 26mm Monster is one hell of a lather-maker because it could make the toughest soap perform like a champ. The Sottozero soap's menthol effect is milder than that from the Proraso Green but you can still feel it, especially after the first pass. The Rubby Dubby Doo made up for the lack of menthol cooling during my shave and felt great. I meant to also say that I get a lot of compliments when I wear the Oscar de la Renta!
SOTD September 14, 2016 Blade: GEM Stainless Razor: GEM Micro-matic Open Comb Brush: Vulfix 2006c badger Lather: Vulfix Lavender cream Post: Witch hazel splash, Speick, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice shave earlier this morning. The Vulfix Lavender cream face lathered into rich, beautiful lather. It's very slick and moisturizing. The GEM MMOC mowed through the whiskers with ease. The jury is still out on that razor for me. My skills are improving but I can easily get irritation and weepers with it. More time and technique refinement is needed. Nice shave in end. Hope you have a great day!
Sept. 14,2016 Wed. Razor: Gillette SS (`48/`50) Blade: Pesonna Platinum ( Israeli red) Lather: Nivea Gel A/S: Gillette Gel/Brut Newspaper Date: Nov.10.1943 A 3 pass shave, WTG, ATG/XTG and a thin lather for clean up WTG,ATG, XTG. Some problem with the 2nd shave on that particular blade edge, changed over to other edge, shaved like a dream, resulting in a BBS, the best to all. Bill
I get 7-10 great shaves with the Spoilers (usually just stop at 7) and up to 30 with the 74's (have not gone past 30).
Got to give props where they are due. Mystic Water (Lime) is an amazing product. Worth any effort and every hard-earned penny. If you're having lathering issues, I urge you to keep at it. You will not be disappointed. Ask our friend @celestino
Star 3 piece razor Treet Platinum blade Satin Tip Purist brush Palmolive Mentholated SC Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Skin Bracer A/S w/added menthol Another nice shave from the Treet Plat blade. The Satin Tip brush feels like a boar brush to me but gave a great lather. All in all, a fine shave was had and I"m ready to go. Now go enjoy your day folks
Route 66 Sweeney Todd Soap Doug Korn Brush Wade and Butcher 7/8 Alum Thayers WH Pinaud Clubman AS Have fun!
Thanks, Joseph, but I have had a large sample of many soaps for almost a year, now and I just want to exhaust them. My horizons are always broad. I have tried most of the soaps, razors and brushes offered. Great to see you are still enjoying that lovely soap.
Prep - Noxzema / Hot towel Pre shave - Proraso Razor – Hone 15 Blade – Astra S/S Brush - 'The Duke' (Duke 3 Best) Soap – Nanny’s Traditional Moroccan Sands Post - Witch Hazel oooh, that was a lovely shave... the Astra Super Stainless works really well with the Hone, and it was my best shave yet with the Moroccan Sands. Man, that's put me in a grrreat mood.
