Solid shave today. I used too much water in the brush as first, so I had to load more soap to thicken the lather. These knots hold more water than most synthetics. The shave felt a little rough after the first pass, so I changed the blade and it was all good after that. I used some Cool to minimize any burn, then topped that with Cologne Russe.

Not as smooth of a shave today and I'm not sure why. Perhaps the blade is on it's last legs. It feels smooth and sharp still but reduction on the first pass wasn't great. I touched up the areas that needed it most and called it a day. Multiple passes with this razor would probably lead to more irritation, so I just hit pause. I'll attack it again tomorrow.

Hope you have a great day!

Catie’s Bubbles LTV today. 20 seconds to load the Thater Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette “Spoiler” SS still in the Red Tip. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Stirling Executive Man aftershave.

  12. I find I tend to apply slightly more pressure with wedges — no flex to the blade unlike a large full-hollow. Silent whisker killers.
  13. I bet the Scots Pine sheep is an excellent bath soap. And I still haven't decided on my next Stirling-but I've narrowed it down some. Do you find, as do many reviewers apparently, that the X Man fragrance dies down quicker than other Stirlings?

    Have a great day!
  16. do you find that the Rte 66 balms last a long time? At 2 oz., I'd hope they do.
  17. I like your Clubman "combo". By the time I get out my Clubman, I think I'll use the Stirling Barbershop Bath Soap as a pre-shave. The fragrances should be close to the same, I'd think.
  18. Damn, once again I had no time to shave the way I originally wanted to. Instead of using my Glacial Obsidian soap and balm I had to grab the first thing in front of me which turned out to be the Tet-a-tet cream. This stuff is also very, very nice because it's perfect for a fast shave - it smells terrific, lathers so easily and has a mild cooling sensation. Its matching aftershave balm has the same lovely scent and gives even more cooling. In my honest and unbiased opinion it's the best Russian-made brand. I'm so lucky I didn't wind up with a thousand cuts because I shaved so fast and I still wound up BBS! :happy088: :happy088:

For those of you who don't know what this Tet-a-tet looks like, here's a pic:
