Hi, This is all happening so fast... I started using a DE in April of this year. Next thing I new, I had five of them and a pile of accessories. Then the straight razor bug hit me, and it was even worse. Over ten of them now, and I will take any excuse to go for another shave! Dropped by here once, some time ago, but got distracted by the store (where I purchased some great samples) and didn't really notice the forum! Thought I'd drop by again and say hello this time. Mike
Welcome, Mike! Glad you discovered that we're not a store! Even though we do have one. Good to have you with us!
Welcome. This is group therapy for those with acquisition disorders. You've admitted your problem. Thats good. Next step is a group hug. Enjoy your stay and please let us know your set up.
My set up? Oh dear, you've opened a can of worms... Brushes: PL8 Super, PJ2 Super (X2), Shavemac something, Rooney Finest 3/1, plus a CH1 Best and a B&B LE2008 on the way. DE Razors: 1958 Fatboy Aristrocrat, a lovely gold Tech, another Tech, and three assorted Superspeeds. DE Blades: Lots. But my favourites are Feathers and Polsilvers. Derbys nice too. Straights: Beau Brummel (similar to Double Duck), ERN Crown & Sword 1720, Frederick Reynolds barber's notch, Boker King Cutter, Dorko something, and 3 or 4 Wapis. (Plus 4 more straights on the way.) Soaps and creams: Too many to mention Honing & stropping tools: Too boring to mention So yes, it's the straight thing that has really hit me hard. I've only been at it a couple of months, but I'm already honing my own razors and getting very nice shaves. Don't use the DEs unless I'm in a big hurry. (They shave great, but the straights are more fun.) Mike
Welcome Mike! Glad you found us Sounds like you already have a very nice collection of gear. Enjoy your stay Neale
