September 27, 2016 Mongoose B2 with Triad Ti Feather Super Pro (7) Simpson CH2 Synthetic Reef Point Dragon’s Blood Witch Hazel Fine Platinum A fantastic near BBS shave this morning. Everything just clicked into place. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
SEptember 27 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush MWF ER 1924 Stirling Unscented PSB Aqua Velva Musk AS It was a nice easy shave this morning. DFS results on two passes, which happened to be the 26th shave with this blade. A little AV Musk to top it off, and it is time to start my day. I hope everyone has a great day!
SOTD September 27, 2016 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick G1 injector Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' Lather: Country Club for Men Cahaba Blues Post: Witch hazel splash, Fred's 'New Spice' after shave, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice shave this morning. The Cahaba Blues soap whipped into top-notch lather. The Satin Tip brush always does a good job in producing lather as well as in face lathering. The G1 swiped through the lather with ease. I'm pretty smooth after one pass and touch-up around the neck and jaw areas. Have a great day!
September 27, 2016 Razor: J1 Schick Injector Blade: Chick (??) Brush: VdH Boar Soap: NeutroMarvy Back to Injectors to finish up SEptember. Yesterday was a quick shave with the Schick Adjustable on '5'. One pass because I was in a hurry and didn't really have a lot of growth from Sunday's shave. Today's was with the Schick J1. One-and-a-half passes to a very nice DFS.
Thank you, Clint. I find I prefer the 1914, probably to all of my SE razors. I think the rounded head is more comfortable. I would like to find rounded Damaskeene at some point to do a comparison there. The 1924 is a good razor, and a bit easier to pond than the 1914. I just find the 1914 to be more comfortable to shave with. I have to concentrate a little more with 1924 to keep from nicking myself.
Tuesday Shave Brush- AOS Fine Badger Razor- PAL Adjustable / Ever-Ready 1914 Blade- Chinese Schick/ GEM Soap- Route 66 Barbershop Hop Post Care- Crystal Alum Thayers Witch Hazel Osage Rub Stirling Barbershop Second time with the injector/SE shave off. I used my Route 66 Barbershop Hop today, what a great soap. I love the scent and it performs flawlessly, easily in my top 3 soaps. I used the PAL on the right side today and the Ever-Ready on the left. The PAL has some audible feedback but it's more like a silent assassin. The Ever-Ready is more like Rambo mowing down everything in its path. They both get the job done but in different fashions. Finished three passes and I'm again dolphin smooth. The alum was totally silent on both sides, I'm going to have to wait until later today to decide the winner. Finished up with some Osage Rub followed by Stirling Barbershop with menthol. Great way to start the day. Have a great day folks!
I didn't make it through SEptember. I had to try this baby and have no regrets. This was one of the better shaves I've had in a long time. I'm as smooth as smooth gets. Travel Shave Today Ogallala Bay Rum Shave Stick Mystery Brush Barbasol Floating Head Razor Gillette Silver Blue Blade (1) Proraso After Shave Cream Fine American Blend AS Have fun!
Very good first impression. I did two comfortable passes with almost no cleanup for BBS. It didn't hurt that I was using a GSB. Great combination. This razor is staying in the rotation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Razor: AlumiGoose (Black) w/Timeless TRH3 Plaid Handle Blade: Feather Professional (7) Brush: Oscar 11, w/Omega 10049 Boar Soap: Eufros Brisa de Oriente Aftershave: Route 66 Bourbon Jungle Balm Once again an outstanding shave with these products. The Timeless 98 gram 304 Stainless Steel handle makes all the difference in the world in providing a close comfortable shave. The Eufros soap is a soap is a repurchase for sure. Route 66 Bourbon Jungle Balm is an excellent finish. This is the 7th day on this Feather Professional and I'm going to see if I can make it last until Friday's shave. I usually change blades every 7 days no matter what.
I love your outdoor shots, but I never think to do it when its still light outside. How soon till we see snow in yours?
Back on focus. With all the new razors that have come in, I got off focus for a bit. My main goal this month was to use my own edges, and take razors from the pile, and make them usable. Sunday and today, I took two razors I had purchased, and got them going. The first razor is a brand new to me Kinfolks Blue Steel Special. Kinfolks was a Case family cutlery that was founded to help Case and Cattaraugus meet demand with a new factory. The bevel on this one was in good enough shape that I only took it to a 5k stone, then used my three welsh stones with slurries to hone it, then used chromium oxide on a linen strop, and did my normal stropping. Two passes, and very smooth and keen. BBS shave on Sunday. I think the steel in these razors makes them easy to hone. Today, I used a Burrell Top Flight. This is a WWII era razor, and another Case family cutlery. This one was in rough shape, and I took it all the way back to the 1k to reset the bevel. I used 3 and 5k water stones, then my three Welsh slates again. Not quite as smooth as the Kinfolks, but effective. Also sharp enough to give me a nice stab in the neck on my ATG pass. Whoops. Ended up with a high grade DFS, but not sure if it will be as long lasting as Sunday’s shave. Other new hardware, a Troth handle with a 24mm Envy White knot. I may be overcoming my aversion to badgers. The ones I have had just haven’t been set deep enough, I think. I like the heft and color of the handle, and enjoyed the knot. I am looking forward to seeing how it feels when it is all broken in. Sorry to bore the non-SR shavers with the honing stuff. With any luck at all you will get bit by the bug and want to do it yourself. (Did anyone mention cookies?) I really liked using the edges I made myself for the last few days. Going to touch up the Burrell, and give it another go on Thursday.
Thanks very much Adam. As far as snow goes it will come when it wants to come. You never know around here. You'll be the first to know.
