What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Nice J.A.Henkels, @david of central florida, but what's that crazy looking, New fangled contraption in front of it?

 

That was my contribution to OCtober.
It was just a gesture, cuz the henkels didn't leave anything to cut.

 

This lil' Greaves & Sons 'FBU' 9/8" with a bit o' Route 66......smooooth!

 

Same Boker as I will be using all month. Had a nice two pass shave with some more touchup on the jaw line. This is proving to be the most difficult area to get clean. I need to do an ear to adams apple pass to get the stubble.

There will be lots of experimenting on technique for this. I hope not lots of blood.

My NOS Wester Bros Manganese Steel Solingen 5/8th Arrived the Other Today..Thanks to My Friend @Karl G ..Its in Mint Condition & a Very Beautiful SR..I Honed Her Up & She Took a Killer Edge..After Honing My Hard Steel Russian SR the Day before the Wester Felt Like a Beer Can on the Hone..

I Honed it in Jig Time..As Far as I Am Concerned there is Something Special about Shaving with a Freshly Honed NOS SR..The Bevel on them has Not Been Mucked about with & a Precedent is Set for Evermore..I had a Very Smooth Shave Today with this SR..Its a Top Notch Shaver for Sure & Performs as Well as it Looks..

Tonights shave was very smooth, with a wonderful two pass shave. The razor took a very sharp edge, that's super smooth. Once again, a victory for the Vintage Japanese razors. Big, Heavy, and sharp.

Razor- Vintage Japanese "Noble 61".
Brush- Semogue 1305 Boar
Soap- ARKO(Avon Spicy Infused)
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy

Today I used
Kinfolks "the Ace" 5/8 full hollow round end

 

It was time today to take the Kiebitz out for a spin.

 

Shave 29. I tried out the other straight I inherited from my grandpa. This was my first shave with it. Long story short: I got a really close shave from it but the Alum screamed. So, sharp but not smooth. Maybe too heavy a hand - time will tell. In the meantime I'm making progress with adding a slight scything motion to strokes and also getting better reduction under the jaw where the lymph nodes are.
