2nd shave with my NEW SC today. I adjusted my angle and got a better shave than my first. I've tried several different razors, modern and vintage, and this is my #3 razor. The best part is the price. It had the original case and brass blade holder for less than $20.

JA Henckels with a freshly honed blade. Looks like an open comb to me! Enjoyable 3 pass shave, pretty much BBS!
Tomorrow starts a new OC razor, the New Standard. This example, if I'm correct, is a first year (1921) model. Bought this one last year at an estate sale for $4. HERM
October 9 Gillette New LC finished in Gun-Kote Bronze by Delta Echo Razor Works Feather blade (2) Kent BK4 brush Tabac shave stick Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine Platinum aftershave Yesterday was a no-shave day, so this was my first shave in OCtober with two days of growth. It was the best shave I've had this month. Tabac is one of the best overall soaps I've ever used. It excels in cushioning and provides good slickness. Reports on the scent are mixed, but I like it. My first pass consisted of short, slightly overlapping WTG strokes on my face and careful ATG strokes beginning at the jaw line and extending down my neck. My trouble spots are my upper lip (prone to nicks and irritation), chin and jaw line (beard grows in different directions), and lower neck (prone to nicks, weepers, and irritation). Good skin stretching obviously helps. My second pass consisted of ATG strokes on my face, except my upper lip where I shave XTG. I performed a combination of XTG and ATG strokes on my neck. The end result was a near-BBS shave. I describe many of my shaves in this way, as I have to really work my trouble spots to get a true BBS. For me, it's not worth the potential for the irritation. I'm still reasonably smooth 12 hours later, and I'd be happy with this shave any day of the week. I hope everyone had a blessed Sunday.

October 10, 2016 Wolfman WR-01 OC + Ti with Triad Ti 7 O’clock Blue (1) BSB2 with Vie Long 2 Band Fan Route 66 Twisted Tweed Witch Hazel Floid Blue I decided to mix things up a little today. @Rufus T. has sent me some 7 O'clock Blue Blades last year. I have used them sparingly since they would be difficult to replace. So I decided to start the week by giving them a go in the Wolfman +. I find the blades to be exceptionally smooth and not quite as sharp as my normal Feather. The resulting shave was very smooth and near perfect. Overall a fantastic way to start the week. I finished off the shave with a splash of Floid Blue. I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday.
Old time shave The Gillette old type, ball end handle. Circa 21-28. My oldtimer has been modified somewhere in its long history. I believe it is more aggressive than the New. Simply because it was designed to be used with thicker, stouter blades. I dont think I have any to compare. With a new blade, it takes concentration, but delivers a close shave. I sorta like the corners folded in, wish it could talk, its been used alot in its day.

I used my ATT M2 today after using my NEW SC the past couple of shaves. Above The Tie doesn't get enough respect today with all of the new offerings, but it just works for me. It's not as pretty to look at as my Wolfman, but it shaves just as good, maybe better.
SOTD OCtober 10th Ericsson Open Comb Super-Max platinum Stirling 24mm synthetic Blades Grim Smolder Good morning friends! This morning I shaved of a good 4 days of stubble. My wraps of choice today were the Ericsson and Super-Max platinum. This was my first time trying the Super-Max and despite it being a very inexpensive it did a pretty good job. I did notice a tiny bit of tugging on my chin area but that may have been due to 4 days of growth to more down as well, we will see how it performs on my normal 2 days of growth before passing judgement. Other then the slight tugging on my chin the blade was very smooth and after 3 passes it left me smooth and feeling great! Have a great day my friends! Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
Razor-New Standard Blade-Astra SP Brush-Stongset w/Whipped Dog black badger knot Soap- Proraso Green for Menthol Monday Bowl- Captain's Choice First shave in a while with my 1921 New Standard. This razor's 3-piece design, makes it a little bit heavy, but I liked the feel. It's easy to maneuver. With two XTG passes and a light finishing ATG pass, the new Astra SP took care of my beard with ease. I had one small weeper on my chin (always a problem area) because I was in a hurry, but it was a nice shave with no AS feedback. HERM
