Tomorrow starts a new OC razor, the New Standard. This example, if I'm correct, is a first year (1921) model. Bought this one last year at an estate sale for $4. HERM

October 10, 2016 Wolfman WR-01 OC + Ti with Triad Ti 7 O’clock Blue (1) BSB2 with Vie Long 2 Band Fan Route 66 Twisted Tweed Witch Hazel Floid Blue I decided to mix things up a little today. @Rufus T. has sent me some 7 O'clock Blue Blades last year. I have used them sparingly since they would be difficult to replace. So I decided to start the week by giving them a go in the Wolfman +. I find the blades to be exceptionally smooth and not quite as sharp as my normal Feather. The resulting shave was very smooth and near perfect. Overall a fantastic way to start the week. I finished off the shave with a splash of Floid Blue. I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday.
Old time shave The Gillette old type, ball end handle. Circa 21-28. My oldtimer has been modified somewhere in its long history. I believe it is more aggressive than the New. Simply because it was designed to be used with thicker, stouter blades. I dont think I have any to compare. With a new blade, it takes concentration, but delivers a close shave. I sorta like the corners folded in, wish it could talk, its been used alot in its day.

I used my ATT M2 today after using my NEW SC the past couple of shaves. Above The Tie doesn't get enough respect today with all of the new offerings, but it just works for me. It's not as pretty to look at as my Wolfman, but it shaves just as good, maybe better.
SOTD OCtober 10th Ericsson Open Comb Super-Max platinum Stirling 24mm synthetic Blades Grim Smolder Good morning friends! This morning I shaved of a good 4 days of stubble. My wraps of choice today were the Ericsson and Super-Max platinum. This was my first time trying the Super-Max and despite it being a very inexpensive it did a pretty good job. I did notice a tiny bit of tugging on my chin area but that may have been due to 4 days of growth to more down as well, we will see how it performs on my normal 2 days of growth before passing judgement. Other then the slight tugging on my chin the blade was very smooth and after 3 passes it left me smooth and feeling great! Have a great day my friends! Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
Razor-New Standard Blade-Astra SP Brush-Stongset w/Whipped Dog black badger knot Soap- Proraso Green for Menthol Monday Bowl- Captain's Choice First shave in a while with my 1921 New Standard. This razor's 3-piece design, makes it a little bit heavy, but I liked the feel. It's easy to maneuver. With two XTG passes and a light finishing ATG pass, the new Astra SP took care of my beard with ease. I had one small weeper on my chin (always a problem area) because I was in a hurry, but it was a nice shave with no AS feedback. HERM
The PAA Bakelite slant is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I really like how light it is, some may complain about the weight, but i find it makes it very easy to keep the pressure to a minimum. I can't recommend it enough. Razor: PAA Bakelite Open Comb Slant Blade: Gillette Rubie Brush: Frank's Finest Lather: Bump Patrol Post: Amici

I am sure my technique was off a bit, but I am not sure that the blade isn't at least partly to blame. I was going to bin it anyway because I have a few other blades I want to try this month. October 11, 2016 Wolfman WR-01 OC + Ti with Triad Ti 7 O’clock Blue (2) Rudy Vey Rover with TGN Finest Reef Point Dragon’s Blood Witch Hazel I am truly impressed with the Reef Point soap. It is a brand that is not discussed much on the forums but I have found it be very good soap. The soap is very easy to lather and exceptionally slick. While, the three pass shave today ended in my normal near BBS , it required more work than usual. The 7 O'clock blade is just not as sharp as my normal Feather. Maybe the results would be better if I had paired the blade with a heavier razor. Overall, it was still a very good, smooth and irritation free shave. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
