Good morning friends. Last night I tool the B&P travel razor out for its maiden voyage. This a a very awkward razor to use as there is no handle and you hold it by griping the tabs between your thumb and index finger. I found it difficult to stay on the cap with this razor and making E-W passes were very cumbersome. Another issue with using the razor was keeping the pressure down as it weighs next to nothing. It took a lot of focus but I was able to walk away from the shave without irritation or bloodletting. After 3 passes I ended with a nice DFS!

Second time using the RR XXX and it does make a very nice smelling lather that is cushiony and slick while it is on your face. But I notice there is practically no residual slickness left by the soap. I have yet to experience this from any of the other soaps that I use. Have you guys noticed this with any of the other RR tallow formula soaps ? On the plus side it rinses off very cleanly although a bit drying as well.

Another close comfortable near BBS shave with these products.

 

Is it really stainless? Joe can it be do inexpensive compared to all the other SS razors?

 

No it is not stainless.
I think the handle is chrome over brass. The head is probably chrome over some type of alloy.

 

Razor Blades & More Co. Are calling it stainless on their website.

 

Handle could be stainless as it states on the site, but not sure about the head. also, stainless steel isn't really expensive and complete razors can be done for about that price or less. just depends on how much money manufacturers want to make, considering they buy it in bulk purchases.

 

Quick and easy here! The Feather blade is losing it though after 4 shaves. Be well and be positive!

 

I saw this thread last night and it motivated me to my open combs into the rotation. This is a circa 1930 Otto Roth.

 

I looked, your right it does.
Mine is v-1, i had it before they closed and reopened. So i can only speak for the one I have.

 

Either way, David, it's a nice looking razor. And if memory serves me from last year, you have several OC razors, all of which I found very interesting.

The big Zenith boar whipped up the Reef Point soap into a mountain of rich slick lather. I can't say enough good things about this soap. It is very easy to lather, the performance is excellent and the scent is fantastic. When my inventory thins out some, I will be buying some other Reef Point soaps. I stuck with a three pass shave this morning. After minimal touch ups, I caught the baby which is not something I try for on weekdays but a very nice result. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

 

The iKon OC and the New Deluxe do give very similar shaves.
