Another shave with the PAL this morning. I moved the setting to "H" and I must say it made a significant difference. I only needed 2 passes for a better-than-yesterday close DFS shave. On this setting there was also more audible feedback, just the right amount (or at least I thought so). I really could hear the change in the sound as the whiskers disappeared, from a "scritchy" noise to more of a soft "swoosh" sound meaning all that was left was bare skin. The angle I mentioned yesterday seemed more specific, perhaps a little smaller window to shoot for, but when I hit that window the hairs didn't have a chance. I generally don't like mild razor so this more aggressive setting was sweet. I'll finish tomorrow and Friday on this setting and then send her on her way. HERM
Roby, brother you are just a little bit this side of crazy! I can always count on you for great responses! HERM
My $20 lot arrived today and the PAL looks just fine (as do the Knack and Krona). PAL v Bunny tomorrow! Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
You're right. And since I have a Krona and a Knack he should send the PAL to ME to ease his conscience, right? HERM
I was surprised I was only one of two bidders. Folks gotta up their Ebay game! Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Hey @jmudrick , you really don't want the PAL. It's a terrible razor and @Herm2502 will do you a favor and take it off your hands for free!
Bunny v PAL round 1 : Two passes with the PAL and something didn't feel quite right, just not cutting as close as expected even on the H setting. I finished the beard with the Bunny, super smooth and close as usual. Now inspecting the PAL I found the Plus Plat not seated properly, sitting too far back, thus minimizing blade exposure and slightly out of alignment. Reinserted the key and fiddled with it until it looked better then proceeded with the head shave at the mid setting .. Fantastic. Mild but superbly close, on balance edging out the Hawk for best head shave I've had. Love it. Except for the fiddling part. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Great shave this morning with Bunny and the PAL Adjustable. PAL on the next to most aggressive setting, Bunny NotSo comb. I'm going to give Bunny the nod for the closer shave, a very small but discernable edge. I'm giving the PAL the edge for comfort/ease of use (handle grip and blade gap/exposure). I am getting more comfortable with the Bunny on the head shave and had no problems getting through it without a nick. Zero irritation with either razor. Tomorrow I'll set the PAL on H and see if it can match the Bunny. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
My final shave with the PAL adjustable was another smooth shave. She's boxed up and ready to go to Bama. My impression, now that I've got a few shaves under my belt, is that this is probably the most efficient SE/injector I've used (except Bunny). I found it comfortable to hold and use and, of course, the looks didn't hurt. Unlike my earlier Schick injectors (E2, E3, G8) it has less audible feedback and a much more forgiving blade angle that's easy to find. I also found it less aggressive (read "nasty") than those earlier Schicks. I think of efficiency as a combination of aggressiveness and smoothness. An efficient razor is aggressive, but had a higher smoothness factor. The PAL's performance is more comparable to my K2 Schick and my Schick Adjustable, but still smoother and more efficient. All-in-all a really nice razor. Aw crap, another addition to my RAD list. Thanks Karl for your generosity. HERM
