1. Tonights shave was absolutely SMOOOOTH. It was a two pass shave, without incident, except when my daughter yelled if she could play next door, just as I was trimming under the nose. Small weeper. She didn't get to play.

  4. Tonights shave was fantastic. Buttery smooth. This Bull's Eye Razor can sure take a nice edge. Two pass shave, with no touchups needed. It's always fun when this razor comes about in the rotation.

  7. Today I used the Celebrated Venture/Slater Brothers 8/8 hollow ground barber's notch razor. Marked for barber's use only. 20161020_083137_resized.jpg This is by far the largest razor I've used or honed. The honing process took a very long time, I dont know if it was because of its deplorable condition or the massive size of the blade.
The smoothness of my shave both pleased and suprized me. It was soo easy to maneuver. It was quiet, but not silent. It made for a very enjoyable shave.
I hope the pics show how massive this beast is. I wasnt able to find much about the age. But its marked sheffield (only).
  8. I can attest to that, mine is not 8/8 more a 7/8 but does take some patients. There usually near wedge too 1/4 grinds so more metal contact on the hone and there a very hard steel. Take your time double your strokes on your finisher and the reward is most gratifying. Mine is overdue.

  17. Shave 35. Outstanding shave today. Easy, smooth, close, minimal noise from the alum, and no blood. At the advice of @Billyfergie I refreshed the hone he put on the ERN to sharpen it a tad. What a difference a few dozen shaves and a little sharper edge make. I put this razor away after I first used it as I only had a few SR shaves under my belt and it was hard to work with. Now it's like a dream. I'm a clean shaven, happy guy. :happy093:
