A simple and delightful shave this was. After two passes and some cleanup, I have a BBS shave and my face feels great! I'm really glad I bumped into this thread and it motivated me to get better acquainted with my open comb razors.

Razor: Gillette Goodwill 1930's Ball End Open Comb (Made in Canada)
    Blade: Personna Platinum (7)
Brush: Shavemac Zebra, Honeycomb 2 Band
    Soap: Route 66 Bourbon Jungle
Aftershave: Route 66 Bourbon Jungle Balm

Finished the week with the Gillette Goodwill OC and I'm happy to say I got great shaves with it all week. The Personna Platinum held it own for 7 shaves. The week with the Route 66 Bourbon Jungle soap and balm was excellent.

Thank you, Doug! What's funny is someone put some thought into it and gave that to us as a gift.

A fantastic shave this morning. The DK 7 whipped up the MdC easily. If you take the time to add water, you are rewarded with a much slicker lather. Three passes and few touch ups ended in a near BBS. This standard gap Wolfman OC is a very smooth and forgiving shaver. Not quite as efficient as the increased gap Wolfman or Timeless OC but very close. It is still a step up in efficiency to a New LC or New Deluxe. If I had to pick just one of my DE razors to keep, this would be the one. Today was the maiden voyage of the Fine Lavender Aftershave I received as a gift from a friend. It's a winner. I am not sure that it will replace Fine L'Orange as my favorite but it's very close. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

Clint, that is a beautifully captured photo. I love that brush; the handle looks like a candy apple.

Thank you Eddie. The handle color changes with the light so it almost like having a new brush each time.

Thanks Amigo. I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Razor: Timeless Stainless Steel Open Comb w/Timeless Knurled Handle
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
Brush: Shavemac Zebra, Honeycomb 2 Band
    Soap: Route 66 Rum Runner
    Aftershave: Fine L'Orange Noir

Excellent close comfortable 3 pass shave and a very near BBS with the Timeless OC. The Route 66 Rum Runner performed outstanding as usual for a Route 66 soap. The finish with Fine L'Orange Noir aftershave was perfect.

Yes, it is. No, I didn't. I just noticed one day that the cap of the FHT looked very similar to the cap for the NEW LC, so I switched the plates, and it worked. Now I have a Fat Handle OC.

Yesterday I used a frankenrazor. The handle was from Edwin Jagger. Although its a very handsome handle, it seemed very slick when wet. I felt as if i had to concentrate to hold it the entire shave.
The head is a mystery. It was included in the case of a my Ever-Ready 1924. Ut has no marking indicating the maker. It is an open comb, with nice curved gyometry. It has two lines running along the head screw and alignment knobs (i think thees a name for those). Those knobs are not rounded like little bullets, but look more like wadcutters.
If someone recognizes the head, I'd love to know. 20161021_152548_resized.jpg

After reading description of Route 66 Rum Runner by @Douglas Carey late yesterday, I decided to pull it out of the cabinet and give it a go this morning. The performance of Route 66 is top notch and Rum Runner is no exception. The scent reminds me a wonderful hot rum cocktail which is perfect for a cool college football Saturday morning. With a wonderful slick lather, I went with a traditional 3 pass shave was very close to a perfect BBS. A few touch ups later and I am happy to report the baby is caught. A cold water rinse followed by witch hazel with menthol left my face feeling smooth and fantastic. I finished off the shave with a splash of Captain's Choice Bay Rum with menthol. I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday.

Did the sweet powdery rum runner mix well with bay rum?
Although rum was in the name, I didn't think of bay rum when i smelled it.
