Day 5 - 28-Oct-2016 Not my best shave but acceptable. In fact one of the worst shaves yet, excluding the derby blades experience. However all is not lost. I've noticed that the Proraso Aftershave Balm combined with the Witch Hazel has completely eradicated the below average shave. Gotta say the Proraso stuff is top notch. Constants - Pre Shave: Proraso Pre Shave & KOS Oil Brush: Omega Boar ????? Soap: La Toja Razor: EJ DE89 Post Shave: Ultra Pure Witch Hazel with added Lime Essential Oil Variables - Post Shave: Proraso Balm (SS) and JPG Le Male Ultra I'm a pure nerd(and proud) with my constants and variables
You get it! That's the point of the 30 day Rule/Focus. Eliminate variables, evaluate performance. While I can't help buying and using new to me products (that's why they are called Acquisition Disorders) I try to stay on Focus to eliminate hardware issued. That reduces errors to Operator Failures and ultimately successes.
Yes I'm beginning to see that now. I definitely got overconfident today. I also suffer from Acquisition Disorder. Luckily I'm a student(again) now so don't have the funds to buy all the things I'd like to.
It's not advisable to get behind on the thread and attempt to catch up several days in just one sitting. View attachment 117335 [/QUOTE] that's what I'm talkinabout-you sure got a lot of people covered!
well, you got one out of me and I wasn't even included in the list. Why did you get a Rise out of me? Because that is what I shaved with this morning!! (I know, BOO BOO)
Earlier I asked the question, is that the same Rte 66 that begins in northern Virginia?(it's the Dulles Airport Access Road, from DC to Dulles).
well, according to the Manhattan Transfer, I see my question is a big fat negatory, but that makes me wonder how far the Virginia 66 goes. Rand McNally time! But what a great song! Breath of fresh air from the Mammas&Pappas!!!
OCtober Focus on Course Colonel Konk glycerine Lime & B-400 Tuxedo Fatip Piccolo / Family Dollar (Personna Red) Alum block & some AS I've lost the label for Local casino has a "Barber Shop" where an attractive young lady will give you a shave with a disposable cartridge razor for an over inflated price. I didn't take the service, but paid too much for a puck of soap I used today. My lathering skills have improved so I got that going for me. Swapped in a fresh blade, three passes for a SAS. Nothing special, but less irritation that previous forays into this aggressive OC DE. Alum was near silent, and the first AS I recall purchasing goes well with the soap. Sun's shining, I ought to be working. Good Day Y'all!
The brush I have been using this month has a 24 mm Envy White knot. I thought I didn't like badgers until I got this one. It's a great knot with as much backbone as my boat, but less flop.
The actual historic old Route 66 tan from Chicago, Illinois to Barstow, California. Large portions of it still exist. I have a bucket list trip that I will do with a friend some day, starting at Sturgis, then to Chicago, then every bit of Route 66 that is left, with both of us on Indian Motorcycles. This will probably be a month long trip. Picture below is from a stretch of Route 66 between Kingman, Arizona and Laughlin, Nevada in 2008.
Razor: Gillette OC w/Hempel Handle Blade: Feather Platinum (2) Brush: Elite Razor "Tres Amigos" Desert Ironwood Beehive w/Envy White Soap: Route 66 Perfect Storm Aftershave: Floid After Shave. Close comfortable 3 pass shave this afternoon. The Elite Razor brush is an amazing brush along with the Route 66 soap it whips up a great lather in no time.
Thanks very much! I really like the Vigoroso after shave. I would put it my top 10 for sure. I'll have to think about that, maybe top 5.
