Thanksgiving Day Shave Razor: Gillette SS Flare Tip Blade: Gillette 7 o`clock (6) Brush: VDH Badger Lather: Hibco Nag Champa Pre Shave: Hibco Nag Champa AS: Brut Splash On/ Hibco Nag champa Butter Balm Newspaper Date: Nov. 3, 1943 A nice even, smooth 2 pass shave, WTG and ATG/XTG. Both passes were without incident, no Kleenex test needed. Close to a fish tank, but not quite, two small areas that just would not co- operate. Still a BBS+ isn`t bad, I`ll take it and be a happy camper wishing great shaves for all on this Holiday. God Bless. Bill
Glad to hear you like the Cheshire scent. B&M makes great soaps, and this is a interesting earl grey tea type of scent that was not my cup of tea so to speak.

First time with the Wunderbar. I have the X3, which was my first and only other slant I've tried. It was an interesting shave, because it was the first time using many things. First off, I never tried Williams before. It came with a gift set I bought yesterday, and I always wanted to try this old school soap. I did no pre-shave prep other then shower because I wanted to experience Williams straight up without any enhancements. I have very soft water and loading/lathering was no issue. The soap's scent was plain and simple - clean and OK - like Ivory bars. The lather was not overly dense or very slick. I see why many say it is not very good, but it got the job done with no frills. I never used Astra blades, but they came with the razor so I figured Joe was recommending their use with the Wunderbar. The Wunderbar and Astras worked without flaw, even with the Williams. It was not hard for me to find the correct angle immediately as some said this could be an issue. This razor is fantastic, smooth, and efficient. I did not get much blade feedback and it did not feel aggressive, but it mowed through my whiskers with no effort. Very nice. I do not know if because the X3 was my first slant, but it took me a few shaves to get used to. Maybe because of my prior experience with the X3, or because the Wunderbar is just a better razor, but I had no issue getting this to work right out of the chute. No nicks, cuts, or weepers. No rough feedback from the alum either. Under the nose and chin were no problem. It was only my first shave with the Wunderbar, so I will need to experience it over multiples shaves before passing judgement, but initial impressions are outstanding. If this razor continues to perform like it did today, it will definitely earn a high place in my rotation. I may just sell the X3! Tomorrow I will use it with a better soap and a nice pre-shave prep to see if it continues to deliver. One a side note, it was also the first time I ever tried Aqua Velva original Sport Cologne. I really liked this for my post shave. I never saw it before and have been told it is something you typically can't buy in the states. I hope they decide to market it here because it felt great and has a nice scent. I would definitely buy it again. In summary, even with many variables and not the best performing soap, I loved the way the Wunderbar shaved and am delighted with this new acquisition. Based only on this 1 shave, I highly recommend it, but want to put it through its paces to evaluate its consistency.
