  1. That's a heck of a cool photo. How do you like that razor?

  2. I like it a lot. Has good heft to it and was very affordable for a stainless steel razor. Even though it doesn't take traditional stiff SE blades, I still get great shaves from it. And the way it is held, it feels like the half DE flexes less than in most of my DE razors, so I like that.
  3. And thank you

  4. New blade in the house. I like em. In the Colonial the Proline is super smooth but still very efficient, the Hawk more aggressive feel and a bit more efficient yet. Unless you're a Japanese barber they're probably not on the radar but maybe worth seeking out for me if they stand up to a few shaves. TBD. [IMG]

    Today's Shave: Sunday November 27, 2016

1949 Wilkinson Empire 7 Day set
    Wilkinson wedge blade ("Tuesday")
    Fine Angel Hair synthetic brush
    Valobra Fougere soap
    Pinaud Lilac Vegetal aftershave

Lately I've been preoccupied with the plethora of new SE razors using the Artist Club blades, but over the weekend I participated in a "Wilkinson Weekend" on another forum. Today's shave featured this 7 day set finished in rhodium. The Empire is adjustable, and I have the rollor comb cranked out a bit (as can be seen in the picture) resulting in a no-stress shave free of irritation and weepers that still managed to be BBS. I really should break out this set more often! :happy088:

Wonderful shave with the PAL Adjustable this morning. Excellent lather from my homemade VDH shave stick. Three passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day guys. :)

  14. It is a fantastic shaver. I got an effortless DFS+ yesterday. I think it is one of the best looking razor is own, and it shaves better than it looks.

    Brush: Semogue 1520 boar
    Lather: Proraso White
Post: Witch hazel splash, Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm

Nice shave with the I1 injector this morning. Proraso White works really well and has a touch of menthol to add a little something to Monday. Nice, smooth shave.

    Have a great day!

  18. Not long ago I got one and I love it. :love029:
  19. Super sharp blade, mild razor, works well as expected. Not as efficient as the same blade in the General but a fine shave.

Scope out the blade exposure on the razor with a Super in it. It doesn't really need one, but I thought I would try it. A surprisingly smooth shave for being number one on this blade. Usually they need a couple to mellow out. Would have been an absolutely perfect BBS, but I missed a tiny little stripe under my jaw. That is my biggest complaint about AC blades: they are so damn wide you end up taking extra little swipes. It reminds me of mowing my ditch out by the street. The 54" mower deck won't get the very bottom of the ditch unless I hit it just right from both slopes. Sometimes I don't get it just right, and leave a little line.
