SOTD: 11/28/2016 - "Oh, Monday..." Pre: Hot shower Soap: West Coast Shaving "Citrus Basil" Brush: Bob Farvour Buffalo Horn 2-Band Badger Razor: Supply Injector Single Edge Post: Barbasol "Brisk" splash Quick one-pass shave this morning as I woke up a bit late. A little irritation from the razor again. Not sure why. The blade hasn't changed since the last one. Lathering went better on the soap with a badger brush. Be smooth and shave it up, everyone! Thanks Douglas. I used to use this background exclusively. I might just stay with it for the time being.
Gillette Black Beauty Israeli Personna SS Blade Frank Shaving Boar Brush Spearmint Soap by Love My Skin ---Added Menthol--- Dickinson's Witch Hazel Aqua Velva Ice Blue After Shave Went for a quick two pass shave today with a bit of touch up, thanks to a great shave yesterday and it turned out to be a nice BBS shave. Even though the Spearmint soap already had a nice cooling effect, I went for more with the added menthol, and it was chilling, but nice.
Nov 28: I'm stepping up my shave routine to daily so I can get through this blade sample pack. Still have ten more to go. Today was the Sharp Hi Chromium Durablade's turn. Again using the same razor each day - my Merkur 34c and usual bowl and my SOC boar brush. This brush is just getting better and better - love it. Used The Art of Shaving Lemon soap today. I bought a hard puck of the soap then put it through a cheese grater and pressed it into a 1 cup pyrex glass storage container with lid. Great way to store extra pucks. Easy to load the brush from the container and they stack when ready to put them away. Back to the Sharp blade. It gave a decent shave - one nick. Seems sharp but not as smooth for me as several of the other blades I've now tested. Again another blade for the growing stack of "ok" blades. I will post the final test results (with brand names) for what its worth, once I'm done. But so far I have found one "excellent" blade, one "really good" blade, four "ok" blades and three "poor" blades.
Tuesday morning's planned shave: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/Derby day 2 Derbylux S/C Gold Bond Moisturizer Aqua Velva Ice Blue A/S Splash This tube of Derbylux cream is just about finished but I have three new back-ups, so I'm good to go for quite a while. It's such an awesome cream in every way - scent, lather, as well as skincare and a good menthol effect to boot. Viva Aqua Velva!

You're right - as long as you don't look too close It is, after all, a chinese razor. Very nice steel, takes a keen edge, good shaver - but the scales are cheap plastic and don't exactly show a high level of workmanship. But what the heck - I like it
Tuesday's Planned Shave: prep-Dove Men + Care(in shower) shave-Barbasol Soothing Aloe razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot + DisposeABLE A.S.-Wind Drift by English Leather via MEM co. Unseasonable warmth creeping in again for the rest of the week. I will not again say "well, looks like it's finally winter in Massachusetts", because it's just been so back-and-forth. Shave-wise, it might have to be a "one-day this, the next day that, the next day something else" for me. I kinda prefer patterns.
