I considered procuring and installing a knot. Instead I opted for the full @Jayaruh Experience. Jim and I discussed what he had available. I chose a synthetic Maggards knot he had in another brush.

I just ordered this Acevivi double comb razor. It has both open and closed combs. We shall see what the fuss is about.

Looks fun from here! Welcome to the madness! If you pick either one of those razors, use it for thirty days straight....master the razor completely, you'll be a very happy shaver! It will also slow down the buying and prevent you from accumulating gear you don't need/don't want/wouldn't have bought. Your future purchases will be more informed and suited to your needs, and it will make the transition to new gear fun and not painful. Voskhod is about as good as it gets. Great fibers in the brush you selected as well. Never tried the soap, but it's been around for a while, so it's surely just fine. You did well with your starter kit.
I would rate them better than Plisson types for sure. Haven't used mine enough to say if I prefer it over Ubersoft II. Probably. For how much you like your Plisson, I bet you would like this. It has what I would call a perfect splay.
Cool. Plisson is all I am using now. I have an Omega 48, but it never sees daylight anymore. Might have to check it out after NB16!
I've seen Jim's handle #22 up close. My Dad uses it. Jim builds very nice stuff, and you're sure to love the new brush!
