Seeing as I'm up already I guess I can afford some shenanigans and bad decisions...did somebody say popsicle sticks? Yeah could have been a lot worse as it was loaded. Guess shaving in the buff isn't a good idea with a pain stick....
December 2..... -PAL Adj. -Commodore X3 Best -Pre de Provence -Stirling Glastonbury I figure any shave that had a soap with a fancy French name, and a brush called Commodore, had to be decadent. Just kidding. The decadent part of tonight's shave was my putting in a new blade when the old one was probably good enough for one or two more. Okay, still kidding. Gonna quit while I am behind. The Pre de Provence 63 really is a pretty good soap. The has a very nice spicy, sort of woody, maybe a little musk?? scent. (You have to bear with me I am horrible at describing scents.) It is not overly strong, but will start to stand out when you work the lather. I don't use it as often as I probably should in order to be good with it, so the lather can be a little fussy. I load it really heavy and face lather, cause it will break if you aren't careful with the water. It will end up pretty slick tho. Slick enough you can do a little touching up here and there without adding more lather. I don't know if I would replace it, but it probably will outlast me at this point. That quad milled puck lasts forever! Goodnight All.

Dec 3 Decadent December Third day with CF and I turned up the heat, broke out the scuttle and the tea kettle. Today's hardware was PRC Damascus and Vie Long super soft silver tip. I remembered that the CF didn't preform well under the heat, but I was wrong, today it worked wonderfully in the scuttle. The brush was very soft and the edge very smooth. Could I achieve an epic shave 2 days in a row? There was just a tingle from the alum so just missed epic but still excellent. Irritation A Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A
Decadent December!! December 2 Razor - Soviet Mladost 2 Blade - (2) Soap - Tabac Brush - BoS Omega 10066 Post - Alum, Nivea After last night's success with the Mladost 2 I was pretty fired up to give it another go this evening. A Soviet DE that produced a BBS?! Even with a Voskhod that is pretty impressive. Clearly I have skilllzzzzzzz. Well, you know what pride goes before. I can't say I fell hard tonight but I can say the razor proved it's a Soviet. Nippy little you know what. Nothing major, just had a harsher feel and left a few tiny spots of blood to let me know either it isn't happy or else I am too careless. Don't dare treat it like a Gillette. It demands more respect whether it deserves it or not. I managed a two pass with touch up DFS with, as I said, only very minor blood in a few places. The harshness showed its hand tonight but.....still better than the Soyuz 1 by far and, honestly, really no worse than the RazoRock TTO treats me. We'll see what the third night does with it. Seeing some fantastic gear about this month already for those going all out to celebrate a little decadence in their shaves. The selfish, society killing kind where you go totally overboard. Now THAT'S decadence! Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
December 2, Dual Comb Focus Fendrihan Scientist stainless Rockwell blade (14) TOBS Avocado croap Nameless drugstore brush Alum, Thayers Witch Hazel Original and Nivea Sensitive balm Screwtape v. Fendrihan Scientist, Round 2 Short version: I think the razor won again. Two weepers, one on the upper lip and one just below the corner of the mouth, and patches of redness on the cheek and under the chin. So, less razorburn overall than yesterday but one extra cut. I'm not sure whether that counts as getting better, getting worse or staying the same? I'll try again tomorrow with a different blade of a different make. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
