Nope that was a different Slim, too. I happened to run across that one as we were doing the birth year razor thing last year, so I got it figuring it would find a good home. Don't feel guilty!
I have to say, for whatever reason, I can really feel the difference in geometry in the head design on the Slim when compared to the FB. When I had the other Slim, I couldn't perceive much of a difference, and I much preferred the weight of the FB. I still prefer the weight of the FB, but I am not sure that I don't prefer this head. It has been a fun experiment, although like I said, I realize that I should have waited much longer for RAD to take over.

Oh my Goodness. You win. You just keep the hits coming one after another. Bravo. All kidding aside. Another great photo. I like the mat you used for the photo?
I could get a great shave out of the slim however I just didn't like using it. I just always felt it was inefficient when compared to my other razors like the New LC. I could get a closer and more comfortable shave from the New LC compared to the Slim no matter the setting. I will give the Slim another try sometime soon just to see if my thoughts have changed.
I usually have my FB set on 7. I have been using the Slim on 3, and the quality of shaves are fairly close to the FB. It is surprising me a bit.
No shave this morning. Two reasons, my bride was sleeping in because of flextime and the company Xmas party is tonight. So I'll shave prior to leaving for that. Last day with the Astra's. Bolzano is next up on Sunday.
I don't usually quote myself, but I forgot to point out the little piece of leather work under my razor. Our own Adam (@Drygulch) made that DE head cover a few months ago when I was having a problem with blades damaging my dopp kit. It works really well, and it looks even better. If anyone has a similar problem, you might inquire with Adam about one of these.
December Decadence Stirling Mountain Man & B-400 Tuxedo EverSharp Heirloom & Sputnik blade Alum and Pinaud Special Reserve AS Schick DE's have caught my eye in other threads recently. Chose to give my dad's EverSharp another try today. With a warmed up suribachi bowl, good tallow soap, and great synthetic brush the lather came together well. Fresh Russian steel installed I commenced standard three passes. Tossed in a couple clean up passes around my chin and trouble spots on my neck. After rinse and alum I still had enough rough spots to disqualify from a DFS, but it's a solid SAS bordering on CCS. Not sure if the flat planes of the DE head keep me from Riding the Cap like a Gillette. I really want to like this razor but too many others give better reduction for less effort. It's a possible future Focus. Good Shaves Y'all!
Razor: Gillette Red Tip A-4 1955 Blade: Pol Silver Super Iridium (2) Brush: Maggard 22 mm Synthetic (Secret Santa) Soap: First Canadian Shave Soap Co. Bay Rum/Lime (Sample) Aftershave: Captain's Choice Bay Rum Whipped up an excellent lather tonight by adding a little more soap to the bowl. I believe the knot in this brush is a Sunrise as it performs much like the Sunrise in my Tres Amigo Beehive brush. The blade is performing well. Three passes with a touch up for a near BBS.
Gillette New Deluxe Bulldog Handle Gillette Silver Blue Semogue BC Texugo Apple Blossom SC Alum Today I got called in to work early and had no time to enjoy my shave. This was a quick shave, comfortable, but not overly close.
The scent is mild, pleasant. The soap lathers well and is slick. Not as slick as our favorite soaps, but good.
