Yeah I got a replacement order that arrived a few days ago. Still need to figure out what I should do with these two handles as James have given me two options; 1) Buy and keep the two spare Darwin handles in this package (one polished and one satin), or 2) Return them to him. With the speed of this cursed package I'm sure I have another month or so to make up my mind though.
The Darwin handles were CAD 150 each (or about USD 115). Part of me is thinking I should just keep them and put them up on eBay and see if I can make a bit of profit on them but I'd quite honestly feel bad buying them just to re-sell them profit or not.
That's a tough call. I know people are starting to talk about that very thing. The Paladin brushes are being bought to resell due to scarcity and people are upset by that.
Speaking of Paladin: "@PaladinShaving: We aim to release another 40 brushes on Sunday, December 11 at 2:00 PM Central."
With Queen Charlotte Soaps (QCS) sadly having announced that they are closing shop I picked up a few soaps such as their excellent Green Irish Tweed body soap;
The three piece I have on the way turns out to be a "1932" Canadian Tech with triangular slots...have seen this discussed many times but never followed the differences in Techs. For $10, I got it for the handle but apparently it's a good razor head too. Here's a pic of one like I have coming; not the usual black Gillette handle with the slight flare at the end. Handle should pair well with the Clix but now I'm curious about the shave of the '32.
I had an order from Minnesota (to Austin) travel to New Jersey for some reason. My Ranger hybrid spent two days in Austin before being delivered...geez, I'm like 8 blocks from the post office! And now, my '40 Milord, coming from Michigan, went to Houston. Kinda overshot its target a bit.
Another Bakelite Shake Sharp (model 1.0), my favorite razor. I might try to trade for a more common later plated version. Or not.
Being an urban Sriracha-loving hipster-in-denial I of course, sarcastically, picked up this newly released lanyard bead from Zerofeud. It dropped 25 mins ago and I expect them all to be gone in another 25 mins. Image for scale Laser etching video -"What are they for?" - "They are mini Sriracha beads for lanyard ends" -"What are they FOR?" -"Go away"
You find the most interesting things.. keep it coming. I for one don't care what they are for .. I think they are cool as hell!!
If nothing else it's one step closer to turning my keychain into something a Japanese thirteen year old schoolgirl would be proud of.
Cased (with shipper) 1959 Gold Flare Tip Rocket. Base on pics of the inside of the case the razor looks to be in very good condition. Have been looking for this one quite awhile. This will be #5 in my Rocket Flair Tip collection. I have a regular tip, blue tip, red tip, full rhodium (from Deluxe Travel Set) and now this one. The only one left out there that I'm missing (I think) is the Rocket TV special partial rhodium. I've only ever seen one of these.
