Irving Barber Shavette ~ Honeyfarm Designs/ TGN Finest ~ Stirling Glacial MITA ~ Stirling Glacial Lemon
This was my first shave with the Irving Barber shavette, and I love it. I have owned a few others, and in terms of build and quality it stomps them all, including the Feather AC. It was designed by a barber for barbers, and has some neat features. It takes AC, half DE, and injector blades. The head plate has magnets on it, so it holds the blade in place while you screw it back together. No fumbling. The entire thing comes apart to clean it. And it has a pretty serious heft to it. I am pretty impressed. It costs about the same as a Feather, but I think well worth it considering the build.
It was my first shavette shave for quite a while, and went smoothly enough. I did my normal three passes, but didn't push my luck on my neck. I have these stupid little hollows on both sides of my adams apple, and the hair grows in a swirl there. I basically need to hit it (very gently) from all four directions. I have never been able to do a sideways pass in, and it leaves me with two rough spots. Not going to complain, my face is super smooth, and only one one small nick when switching to my off hand. I have had much worse shaves.
Next months focus is going to be to figure out how to get my problem spots. Should be a fun month.
Good night, all.
