Decided that I'd give the Feather its third day and go ahead and go milder on the razor. Day one was on the Fatip, day two on the Super Speed, so the Tech would seem a fitting final shave to go milder. I was cleaning my cabinet by my desk today and found what remains of my tub of TSD Bay Rum Lanolin soap. It's the ring of death but plenty to work with so hey, why not? A change from the Route 66 but still a Lanolin soap. Haven't used it in several months. The Pro 48 should do nicely loading from the bottom of the container and working up a lather.

Notice I said it "should". It did manage to get a load started but just didn't seem to want to pull much more. So, I added a bit of water which helped only minimally and then got my Seaforth mug to try a mug lather. By adding even more water to the mug I was able to get the lather where I needed it. Lather done, with a bit of extra work but hey.....all good things come to those who wait.....and work on it in the meantime.

The Feather was smooth with the Tech yet very effective. Sharp blade, mild razor. A winning combo. Two passes later and it's near BBS and the alum is relatively quiet. I'd say a very fine shave. Comparing it to yesterday's with the Super Speed they are very close. The SS did find the baby. The Tech nearly did. Either way, great shaves. And even the Fatip was awesome in its own harsh and slightly bloody way.

That's three days on the Japanese Feather in honor of @wristwatchb ! I'll figure out where to go for tomorrow before I shave tomorrow. Obviously, eh? But in honor of "Murica's Favorite Blade", from its Japanese origins, I leave you with this.

Magnificent shave with the PAL Injecto-Matic this morning. Bountiful, slick, protective lather from the Palmolive Cool Menthol shave cream. Three passes for a refreshing dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day friends.

Great setup @Hodge.

Dr Jon 2.0 cannot be denied. It lathered very easily and built into excellent lather with plenty of residual slickness. This is better than Crown King for me on first impression. The scent is less soapy when lathered... More musky with an underlying floral. I like it, but it does not blow me away in the scent department.
I went with B-M Reserve Spice and my face feels great.

Up for today’s shave is the maiden voyage of the Option Five Razor. The razor is made of Nickel Alloy and is on the heavy side at 120 grams or 4.2 ounces. It is looks very futuristic and is advertised to appeal to both men and women. It is so very different from all my other razors, that I am surprised at how much I like the looks of the razor. I loaded up a new Feather blade. I found the blade to be very easy to load and the blade exposure even on both sides. The handle appeared like it would be slippery with wet hands but this is not the case. I had no issues with the handle slipping during use. I did find myself gripping the razor in the waist section of the handle. Going with a three pass shave, WTG, XTG & ATG followed by touch ups ended in my usual near BBS. I found the razor to be mild, not as mild as a Merkur 34c, but efficient. You can really hear the razor cut the whiskers especially on the XTG pass. Even though it is the first shave, I am impressed with the Option 5 razor. I will continue using the razor alternating it with the R1 Calypso over the next week or so. I like that lather shot. Those that know what a good lather is, recognize that (or the face-potential, rather). Does Reef Point use clay?
