Thank you. The razor is certainly very different from my normal choices. I'll blame the coupon and pain killers.
Brush Parker Best Badger Soap Mitchell's Wool Fat (thank you secret santa). Razor 1947 Aristocrat Blade Feather (1) Aftershave Fine Accouterments Geen Vetiver with a good amount of Guerlain Vetiver Eau De Toilette. Today, I tried a little different kung fu with the fat. I let the soap sit in warm water for a few minutes and then drained off the water. I also soaked the brush in warm water and then squeezed it out after two good shakes. As I loaded the brush, it was more foamy than yesterday. I loaded it for a solid 2 minutes and then went to the bowl. I was able to create a lather that had peaks and was not bubbles popping on my face, but the lather was still rather thin. I'm not sure how creamy and rich of a lather this soap will make, but I got greatly improved results from yesterday. Overall a very DECedent shave. DFS with a fantastic feel and smell of fresh grassy vetiver.
SOTN December 12th Ikon X3 Slant Personna Platinum Chrome (Israeli Red) La Toja (In the bowl) Satin Tip The Purest Crown King Scuttle Homemade Lime AS Another decadent December shave is in the books! I love how mild the Ikon X3 feels and yet it is still a very efficient razor. The Personna IR is a very fine blade and pairs well with the Ikon X3. I also think that I am getting better at making lather in a hot scuttle. I got a very nice, thick, and very warm lather out of the La Toja last night which made the shave even more decadent. I practiced on skin stretching some more as well as using my left hand. The shave proceeded a little slowly but I went for the full three pass routine and was happy to see the baby waiting for me at the end.Have a great day my friends!
I have had this issue with Mystic Water and MWF. However I must admit to using mostly Prorasso in previous foci. I have tried using a damp brush (two shakes) to squeezing the water out of the brush and can't seem to get enough soap loaded. I may do a "difficult lather" focus next month. Do you have any suggestions? It seems like I can't do better than loading the brush for 2-3 minutes.
Interesting. Thanks to Secret Santa, I had my first go with a shave stick last week (tobac). May try that with the MWF. I definitely see a soap focus in my future.
