I have heard similar words at my house, excuse me our house, even though I've paid for the house. Anyway getting back to your hypothesis IE, "One of those days I just couldn't win. Get used to it. At one point in time I had complete control over my house and family, then one day I awoke. Well you know the rest of the story.
Will be biting cold here tomorrow(Thursday) and Friday. Let's look at tomorrow's planned shave first: prep-Dove Men + Care Hydration Balance Bodywash(in shower) shave-TSD Russian Leather soap(Lanolin thrown in). brush-Burma Shave razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot + DisposeABLE A.S.-TSD Russian Leather.
Y'know, it appears your Plissoft brush matches my Gillette Sensor Deuce razor in terms of daily use .

Thanks Douglas! I personally love it. It's a very sweet lemon that I can get whiffs of throughout the day. Some could say candy-like or artificial. But it works for me.
Today's shave Hot water wash with nivea mens face wash and a washcloth Brothers Bristles/ ace black badger Art of Shaving sandalwood Schick Krona Astra sp (3) Aos balm Crusella&Co Sandalo Today's shave was nice. My very first soap may have two uses left, its been good to the end. Krona did a good job. Finished with Crusella&Co Sandalo. Hope y'all did as well, or better
Brutalt Bra = Buh Bye. I made an attempt to titanic my way through this soap, but that's not going to happen. Why? That's why. I also made this realization after almost 3 years back to DE shaving. There are very few of us that really "know" their soaps. I am not talking to those of you that have chosen to use one or two soaps regularly, you know who you are. I am speaking to "most" of us that have many, many soaps in our arsenal. I thought that I knew Brutalt Bra, but clearly, I didn't really discover the soap until I started using it daily. How many of us really "know" our soaps?
Thursday's Dove Men Face Wash Arko Shaving Stick Jayaruh #139 (first shave) Gillette Rocket Aristocrat Jr. Personna Super CWR, Asma Alum Block T.N. Dickinson's WH Barbasol Brisk AS This is the first use of the Jayaruh #139 spalted tamarind silvertip badger brush. It has a brother that lives in Canadia (@Red Rider ). Interestingly enough, I got this razor from him. It is my first and only Rocket. I wish I had more. The Arko Shaving Stick face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #139 silvertip badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Aristocrat Jr. with a Personna Super blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Barbasol Brisk After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
#SOTD Second day using my new Fat Boy. Dialed to a 3 with an Astra Superior Platinum blade worked pretty well. The Deal Maker soap is on a whole other level! Followed up with alum, witch hazel and homemade Nautica voyage inspired balm. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Great setup. I've heard great things about the afetershave. How would you describe it? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Ooh ouch. Totally agree about knowing your soap. I could honestly say that I "know" two. Most of them I am acquainted with, and the rest I just kind of have one night stands with now and again.
Razor: Gillette Red Tip A-4 1955 Blade: Pol Silver Super Iridium (7) Brush: DFS LE Nathan Clark Envy White Handle Aluminum Color, Anodized Dark Bronze. Soap: Reef Point Soaps Admiralty Aftershave: Fine L'Orange Noir One week with the Pol Silver Super Iridium blade and I'm happy to say I got seven great shaves from it. The Nathan Clark DFS LE with Envy White knot along with the Reef Point Soaps Admiralty whipped up an amazing lather. A very near BBS. This soap is a bright, orange citrus scent of Japanese yuzu, together with peppercorn, mellowed over a base of amber, musk and sandalwood. It's smooth, refined, and not your standard citrus scented shaving soap. This a for sure buy again soap. Cold and windy here today.
Wednesday Afternoon..... Irving Barber Shavette ~ Stirling 26mm Two Band ~ Electric Sheep ~ Black Pepper Lime Splash and Lime Balm. Had a slow, enjoyable, refreshing shave. Hope you all did too.
Sorry to see your discomfort Joseph. I believe many of us know our soaps, but we can all get fooled every now and then. Hope you have something to put on that.
