It's not finished yet. Probably not for quite awhile yet, especially since I don't use it everyday. I've had it for at least a year and a half. I have used an entire puck of the Fat in that time as long as you don't count the last of it that I saved to mix with the remaining Tabac from this puck when I call it. Gonna make some TabFat. Or FatTab...or whatever you want to call it.
@Douglas Carey - I think they are absolutely worth trying. I love mine, and will be getting another now that they are coming out in some different sizes. Have you seen That Darn Rob on Etsy? He is making some handles that remind me greatly of Douk Korn's work, and uses a lot of them. They are slow to drop, but I am lurking his page a lot lately. https://www.etsy.com/shop/ThatDarnRob/sold
He played a seven song Christmas set, a five song Rockabilly set from both Stray Cats and his solo stuff, and closed the show with big band stuff. Really nice show.
I am pretty jealous. I have never seen his tour come close enough to me that I could go. Bucket list show for me. We love his Christmas stuff. His Christmas albums are probably the most played that we own, maybe only second to Voodoo Daddy. We got to see a Voodoo Daddy Christmas show one year, and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen.
Thursday Afternoon.... Had a really good shave today. Sheep soap really is my favorite, and just leaves a guy's face feeling so good in this dry winter air. A little Black Pepper Lime, and I feel like a new man. I spent quite a little time (106 mini passes) trying to get those trouble spots on my neck. I found that small scything type passes at a 45 angle down were mostly getting it. Not a perfect shave, but I have had worse and still called it pretty good, so happy. Goodnight, everyone.
Being a good Southerner I would have to go with FatBac. For the uninitiated, fatback is a southern staple used for seasoning beans and greens. It can also be fried and eaten like bacon.
And is one of true, original, and honest to goodness food of the gods. As I am supposed to be on a low fat diet I'm going to now have to try and get the smell, taste and image of that out of my head. It's not going to be easy.
Razor: Gillette Red Tip A-4 1955 Blade: Pol Silver Super Iridium (7) Brush: DFS LE Nathan Clark Envy White Handle Aluminum Color, Anodized Dark Bronze. Soap: Reef Point Soaps Admiralty Aftershave: Fine L'Orange Noir One week with the Pol Silver Super Iridium blade and I'm happy to say I got seven great shaves from it. The Nathan Clark DFS LE with Envy White knot along with the Reef Point Soaps Admiralty whipped up an amazing lather. A very near BBS. This soap is a bright, orange citrus scent of Japanese yuzu, together with peppercorn, mellowed over a base of amber, musk and sandalwood. It's smooth, refined, and not your standard citrus scented shaving soap. This a for sure buy again soap. Cold and windy here today.
Still on the straight and narrow. 2-1/2 months into my Straight journey. Things are starting to really become second nature. The shaves are constant now. I am getting DFS shaves. There is still a bunch of learning to do mind you. The neck is the trouble spot. Still focusing on technique there. I am wondering why I waited so long. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Today's shave was Decadent plus because it turns out I had a secret Santa and didn't know it. Yesterday when I came home from work I received a package from our own Charlie Danger, @wristwatchb of Route 66 Cavendish. So a big shout out, thank you and Merry Christmas to Mr. Danger. Actual he told me in advance so I was able to piggy back on the order (a big benefit due to international shipping expense) and order the ASB and another tub. I woke up late so a SR was out but I did have my Cobra Classic loaded and read to rock 'n roll, it is my favorite SE. Used my favorite brush a Thäter 2 band. To make this extra special I broke my favorite tobacco perfume, Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque, I only have a small decant so it is for special occasions. Given all the good karma as expected I had an epic shave, everything was right from the lather to my smooth and non-irritated face. I included an extra pic of todays watch, a homage to 55 Fathoms, it is really a Seiko automatic.'
