. Thank you. Wait until next week I am pairing the Nuavia Rossa with the translucent red Doug Korn DK7.
IBC Shavette ~ Stirling 24mm 2 Band ~ Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber ~ Stirling Gentleman So I managed to pretty much get to the low spots on my neck today. At least I figured out how to hold the razor and the proper stroke. I didn't get them completely because I chickened out. One of my best friend's son is getting married tomorrow, my son is the best man, my daughter is singing, I actually took my suit to the cleaners. The last thing I need is to screw up my neck today. I am starting to lose my appreciation for Chiseled Face soap. I love the scents. LOVE. But I cannot get the lather slick enough and stay stable. Partly I think I didn't really notice when using a DE because I am so much faster. But when you are putzing around in turtle mode with a shavette? This soap has dropped out of my top tier. Hope you guys keep warm. The cold broke a little bit last night. We're going to see zero today.
December 16, 2016 Razor: G3 Aristocrat Adjustable (4) Blade: Crystal (3) Brush: VdH Boar Soap: Mineral Fusion For today's shave, I switched to my favorite razor, a birth-quarter Aristocrat Adjustable. This choice was in conjunction with a PIF being run on another site. (A member there was looking for people to join him in a birthday shave for which he is going to use his birth-quarter Slim. The prize is a 100 pack of Voskhods.) I definitely had better performance from the soap today than from the last few days of Williams. Overall, the shave was very comfortable though, oddly, not as close in a couple of spots as I would have expected. I suspect I probably could have turned the razor up another notch. Still, a good DFS to end the work week with.
Great pictures and set-ups, gentlemen! The quality of the pictures on this thread continues to impress!
Nice picture, Keith! I definitely like the watch. If I ever get a watch other than my Apple Watch, I would like to find one like that.
Today was the last day of the Bolzano blade Focus. Trumper GFT Shave Cream and Aramis AS. Nice two pass shave with some minor touch up. Next up is Feather Black starting on Sunday. TGIF. Have a great weekend gentlemen.
I think these are actually a bit smoother than the SP, although the SP may be a hair sharper. But then we're really splitting hairs. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
December 16 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Stubble Trubble Up & Adam Shave Soap Gillette Black Beauty Stirling Unscented PSB Wholly Kaw Chypre Rose Concerto Today was the fifth shave with this razor. I am home with my oldest and youngest daughters, while my wife and two other kids are at a school Christmas party. My daughter helped pick out my shave today, and it was great. The Black Beauty did a fantastic job, and was set up perfectly with the Up and Adam soap. This soap is great and slick. My daughter loves the Wholly Kaw Chypre Rose scent, so this was an easy choice. She also helped me set up my SOTD photo. I let her take and edit her own photo: It is obviously a great Friday. I hope everyone has a great day!
Brush Jayaruh #94 with Whipped Dog high mountain badger knot Soap Maggards London Barbershop Razor 1947 Aristocrat Blade Feather (1) Aftershave Aqua Velva Ice Blue I had enough Maggards soap left for this shave and one more. I just pressed it into the bottom of my scuttle and will use it until it's gone. But, you know, sometimes the basics can be DECadent... so after a nice smooth two pass shave, I splashed on some nice Aqua Velva for a refreshing clean smelling finish. Solid DFS today. Have a great weekend everyone.
I thought that the Feather blade I was using was done after yesterday's shave, but I didn't change it out and then shaved after a shower this morning. It was smooth and effective on day 6. Possible that my Feather blade focus will use only 4 blades this month.
