When you are honing and strpping your Rolls, just using the system that comes with this system? And how many reps for each did it take to get shave ready and the how many to maintain these kind of excellent results? Inquiring minds want to know...
This Particular Blade has Never Been Stropped or Honed in the Rolls System..I Honed it on a Progression of Hones.. I Strop it for 30 Laps after & 60 Laps before a Shave..They Usually Need Honed Outwith the System before using the Rolls System Due to Age or Wear..The Rolls System is Designed to Maintain a Shave Ready Blade is All..It Wont get a Blunt Blade Shave Ready... If I Was Using the Rolls System to Maintain it I Would Do around 40/50 Laps After & the Same Before a Shave on the Stropping Pad..I Would Use the Hone Pad about Every 4 Shaves for about 50 Laps as Well..Rolls Do Not Offer Exact Numbers..Their Instructions are Vague.. SOTD December 19, 2016 Blade: Chinese Schick Straight Razor: Genco Rescue Razor: Schick I1 injector Brush: Vulfix 2006c badger Lather: Stirling Ozark Mountain Post: Witch hazel splash, Stirling Ozark Mountain aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, WTG (cheeks, for practice), touch-up Pretty smooth overall shave. This is straight shave #2 for me. Did my cheeks using both hands two times, both WTG. I did a little under my nose and tried some of my chin before calling it quits. I finished off everything with the Schick I1. The I1 is a fantastic razor. It feels SO different when I switch to it after using the straight. It's so smooth and buttery. The straight feels rough right now, but I guess that's understandable since I've just started using it. We'll see how it goes. Have a great night!
Hey man, sounds like you've hit the ground running......When I first started with my shavette, for the first few weeks my sink looked like a movie prop from "Helter Skelter" I stuck it out though, unbelievable! I did finally get irritation free shaves...Course I look a little different....But I think the scars add character... And I agree, that I1 is a charmer....Have you tried it out with a twin blade yet?
Also Walgreens will order the Chinese Schicks for you, with instore pickup 2 to 3 days later with o delivery charge. But you need to ask a mang. Most co-workers around here don't know that they offer that service... Also some like the Personna Stainless Coated....it is a very good price...Here check it out... Tue. 12/20/16 Excellent shave with the PAL Injecto-Matic this morning. Marvelous lather from the Stirling Cocoa Forest shave soap. Bowl loaded and face lathered for a very refreshing dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day guys.
Excellent pic, buddy. I just recently opened a puck of Haslinger, and I have to say that it is phenomenal soap. I understand all the buzz. The puck I got is sage, and the scent is fantastic, but a little weak. If it could be stepped up just a hair??? Wow. How is the coconut scent?
Thanks Jared. The coconut is pleasant but also weak. The performance is so outstanding that I wouldn't care if it was scentless. FYI it makes a hell of a shave stick also.

Perfect shave today using the Schick C3 loaded with a Chick blade (x4) (pic in SOTD thread). Two passes wtg and a third pass atg on my neck produced what was probably one of my closest shave ever. I didn't think my Schick type D could be surpassed in close shaves but it happened today..... For whatever reason my C1 and C2 don't provide nearly as good shaves for me, even though I've had more experience with them both. I was planning on putting all three in my display case but think now the C3 will be part of my regular rotation, along with my D and F.
