My first use of an SE razor in quite a while. Can't remember the last time actually. Not too bad.... Excellent lather from the Arko and synthetic brush but required a finish with the sensitive AS lotion.

    Razor: Personna Flexhead Injector (7)
    Brush: VDH Badger
    Lather: Proraso Green
    Pre Shave: Homemade
A/S: Aqua Velva/ Hibco Butter Balm
    Newspaper Date: May 6,1945

Dolphin smooth, 2 days in a row, the only thing I fear is growing gills, I think I finally figured out the timeline on my meds (hope it doesn't change again). Everything fell into place for a near perfect shave. Two passes, WTG/ATG a nick on the chin, a styptic pencil took care of that, otherwise..... perfection! This is wishing "Happy New Year", and great shaves for all. God Bless.

Many have issues with MWF; understandably so. Today, with a pre-soak of 30 minutes, I achieved a truly luxurious, slick, creamy, stable lather. Even if you have hard water, don't give up on a remarkable product.

The Cahaba Blues soap is terrific. Great scent and performance. I had not used this one in a while and it was a good choice for today. Coincidentally I used this soap for the first time one year ago today! I got it for Christmas last year. In any event, nice shave all around.

    Have a great day!

I'm convinced the GEM Blue Star gives one (but only one) phenomenal shave. Evening and morning after check-ins with the GEM stainless did not live up to the standard set by the virgin Blue Star. So I went back to another Blue Star Damaskeene shave for the beard - - shimmed with two modern injector blades - - , the General with a Dorco blade for the head shave. In addition to confirming my love for a fresh Blue, it also confirmed my preference for standard size injector razors for the head shave. I never get weepers with the standard but managed one with the Dorco. I think I'll stick to touch ups with these skullwise.

I could not have imagined a better Christmas morning shave than the one afforded by this gift set from my son - #BBS4Ever. And, since I cannot top Matt’s write-up about it, I’ll simply link to it below.
