SOTD: Another vintage Solingen-made razor this morning— 'Hans' 5/8" from Otto Deutsch (Bresduck/Pearlduck, 1930-52), Soap Commander 'Influence' soap and matching aftershave balm, Omega silvertip brush. Minty round tooth pre-1924 Shovelhead, very decent beard shave with an ancient fat spine GEM, followed by head shave with a GEM stainless with just a little touch up with the Hawk. Lovely razor, fine BBS shave.
SOTN December 27 Gillette New SC Rapira PL (2) Sir Hare Classic Barber Satin Tip The Purest Crown King Scuttle Homemade Lime AS Good morning friends. Last night was my first dance with Sir Hare. The Classic Barber scent is very light but very pleasant, a touch of sweetness and a bit of woodsyness, not like piney mind you, but like fresh cut lumber. I don't have any other barbershop scents to compare this to but it is quite nice. The consistency of the soap right now is very very soft. Almost as though it wasn't cured long enough. The soap was so soft that I was able to see little particles of soap in my brush after loading it. No issues in building a lather though. I got a nice thick creamy lather built up in my scuttle in no time. The lather was very slick and protective and had a good post shave feel, no need for a balm after the shave. As before the New SC and the Rapira PL made a heck of a team. Have a great day my friends!

Wednesdays shave A wonderful shave today Razor - Gillette Black Beauty Blade - Wilkinson Sword Lather - Saponaficio Varesino Manna Brush - Fine Accoutrements Angel hair Aftershave - Locitone Cade aftershave balm. The Cade aftershave balm is a lovely Christmas present from my Mum. I'm used to the Nivea balms which are quite runny, but this is a thick cream. But it smells great and works well. Its makes me want to get the Cade shaving soap.
I used it for the photo, but actually it is an ashtray for my cigars! It was a present from my wife over 20 years ago. I always feel guilty put ashes in it since it is so nice! Thanks for the complement. The real treat is the cigars. They are Partagas 150 Don Ramons. I still have 7 out of 10 after all these years - since 1995! Another present from my wife left over from our pre-kids days! Steve
