    Well...

Depends on what you like as far as conditioning, smell etc..

I have used Proraso and love it. I have used P160 and love it. I used AOS sandalwood and was not a fan of it.

Start with Poraso (C.O. Bigelow) it is cheap and at most bath and body stores.

I always give a plug to the Queen; I have not used her creams though.

You can't beat Geo F. Trumper or Taylor of Old Bond Sreet. Pick out your favorite scent and go for it. You should also look over the reviews

I wasn't so impressed with Proraso. Found it a bit weak. Smell and price were ok. Also I was allergic so its been passed on.
Trumpers are well recommended but I haven't tried any. Taylors are also popular and cheaper. I have the Rose. Think Turkish delight.
Despite not being a particular fan of the Body Shop I have to recommend the Body Shop shaving cream. It was quite reasonable, in terms of quality it was as good as the best of them and the smell..... The smell was unidentifiable but I really liked it. Others though don't.

I'm big on Truefitt & Hill creams these days. The Almond is probably one of the best creams I've ever used. The scent is perfect and it lathers and shaves with the best of them.

I only have experience from T&H Trafalgar cream, and it totally rocks! Perfect scent, builds a great lather and is very smooth!

    A big +1 on T&H!

    1) Nancy Boy Signature Scent
    2) My Time Bath & Body Menthol
    3) Saint Charles Shave Bay Rum with a Twist
    4) Taylor of Old Bond Street St. James

I have a few more to explore, so far the journey's pretty darn interesting!

I've been using the Bigelow/Proraso green for the past two weeks and have been really happy with it, but my point of reference is the canned crap, etc. I was using before. So for someone who is just entering the world of quality products, it's good.

I can suggest very many, but I'll only suggest 2--Noxzema lather, and De Vergulde Hand. Noxzema for the cooling effect, and lather, and skincare, De Vergulde Hand, for the scent, lather, and skincare. The Noxzema scent also appeals to me a lot.

    - Proraso RED (if you can find it!)

Way better then the Green , alot more mild, less chance of allergy issues with this one.

I recently tried The Body Shop shave cream and I was happily surprised by how good it was.
