I was on a "No Buy" last year and did pretty well with only one $20 purchase. I've been wanting an Edwin Jagger razor for several years and came across this DE86 (with a rubberized handle) on Amazon for under $23 so I pulled the trigger. This morning was my first shave with it and it sure is a fantastic shaver! The razor has the perfect weight and balance for me and the finish is flawless. I typically use vintage Gillette's (SS or an Adjustable) but this EJ will surely be in the regular rotation! View attachment 123593
If a company sends you something (example - a bill) and they are expecting you to send them something back (example - payment), the company may (not all do) send along an envelope that is already stamped with postage for you to use to mail said example back to them. The easy answer - the company is paying for your postage fee.
Beautiful day today! I picked up this Colgate Handy Grip for $3.50, it's in pretty good shape. On the RR Bamboo Handle is my new iKon SC101
Used to be when certain people keep getting unsolicited offers in the mail, they might wrap up a box of heavy stuff like bricks, or last weeks garbage, and tape the "Postage to be paid by recpient" envelope to the not so welcome returned mail. Now days the best you can do is put their junk mail in the postage paid envelope and return it to the sender. Still fun, but not as expensive to the company filling your mail box with dead tree offers you didn't ask for.
I thought that the Slim and the Fatboy ended my razor addition but I forgot about the Toggle. That is one incredibly good looking razor. It's actually a good thing that there's almost zero chance that I will ever acquire one because it keeps my hopes low. Much better than a razor that seems just barely out of reach like the Fatboy was for a long time. How does it shave? Are the settings the same as the Slim and the Fatboy?
I shaved with it on 5 like I do my fatboy and it actually feels smoother.. it's a weird thing, but it felt milder but I did notice it was shaving more effecient. Maybe it was just me, I used a personna blue with 1 shave on it.
I received my new strop yesterday. It's a Drygulch horse hide strop with real linen. What a beauty it is! I'm finally retiring my beginner strop. Thanks Adam.
The daily mail was good today. Had these three Stirling soaps on order for awhile. A couple new after shaves and some of the bulk order blades - more on the way with other brands of blades.
My Tabac ship has landed! Thanks to Perry @PLAla for the sample installed in an upcycled dispenser. It does smell like my grandma's purse, and Certs mints, but in a good way! Tapatalk Via Kyocera
After I was done Christmas shopping, I had a bit left over to get something shave related, but stayed away from razors. I kept a watch on this and when the price was lowered, don't really know why this wasn't bought in the first place, I spent my last $11.00, shipping included, and bought this Gillette shave stick container. But it took a long ride getting here from Texas from all the storms going around, especially down in South Carolina, where it spent a bunch of days. It finally got here today and was joined by an Arko shave stick.
There is a separate piece inside that attaches to the shave stick and you just push up on it and it just stays there. It's like a false bottom.
