Thanks very much amigo. I increased the loft which seems to work better for me. I like to bowl lather.

That's wonderful. It can be a very rewarding hobby. I have several guitars at the moment. My favorite is my grandfather's early 70's Gibson J45/50 acoustic. I also have: Taylor 210 DE acoustic. Washburn HB35s Hollowbody electric Fender Paisley Telecaster 1960's Conrad Hollowbody bass Kent violin bass Cort bass I play mostly at our church, but I also play at a local men's shelter and with various friends when opportunity arises. I play mostly rhythm. I have some arthritis in my hands and just am not quick enough for lead. But it's a relaxing endeavor and great creative and social time. I can enjoy it all alone, or in a social setting. Shaving is great for alone time, but not so much in social settings. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Onward to the next brush test. Another iconic brush, Kent BK8. This is wonderfully soft brush and one of my top picks for a hot scuttle and lathering a cream. To kick this off I went with he brushes strength and fired up the kettle and broke out the scuttle. It super lather day with AoS tallow soap and AoS sandalwood cream. Today's razor is a Hart Steel 6/8. Lots of hot lather as I added to much cream... well there is no such thing as too much. The brush does with always does with a cream and hot scuttle, perform awesome. 4 passes and no blood and no irritation. I was surprised I just missed the baby. Maybe I should refresh the edge? Last night's shave - I know, I'm a day behind but it's been some crazy days lately - was pretty darned good. Soap - Barrister and Mann Bay Rum (Thanks, Charlie!) Razor - Magic Shavette Blade - Polsilver Brush - RazoRock Plissoft Big Bruce AS - Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum Cologne - Burberry London The Magic continues to be a bright spot in my day. It's pedestrian, sure, but it has a solid blue collar work ethic and doesn't clock out until the job is done and done right. Today was my first shave with a Polsilver blade, and I see why people like them/are sad about their slow disappearance. It was super solid. It was also my first experience with Barrister and Mann. I know the Bay Rum fragrance tends to be polarizing, but I tend to like that in a fragrance. It's strong, to be sure. But I also like that in a fragrance (so long as I like the fragrance). I feel like some of the dislike of the scent might be deterred if it were called something other than Bay Rum, as bay rum can mean quite a few different things and many people have strong opinions about which scent elements make a bay rum a bay rum. If they had called it "Fall Harvest Broom Section At Kroger" or "Winter Spice" it might have avoided the bay rum conundrum. Regardless, it consisted of scents I can enjoy in the full throes of winter (a right frigid 75 today). The soap itself performed very well. Now I really hope that B&M will re-release 42, as that is a reference to one of my favorite books and I want to know what a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster smells like. The VIBR matched the soap scent quite well, and some Burberry London put it over the top. Tonight I think I shall continue my efforts to break in the cheap Omega 10049 boar. Soap to be determined. Happy Anniversary January!! January 16 Mostly Shavettes - But today not so much Razor - Fatip Piccolo Blade - (2) Soap - Route 66 Rum Runner Brush - Vie Long 12601 The Pony Post - Alum Second night with the Fatip and Feather. Seems like there has to be a name for those two out of that somehow. The Feather-tip? Fat Feather? Hmmmmm. Anyway, I think on word sums up the shave tonight. Baby. Two passes and the baby showed up. The feel of the blade was amazingly even smoother than last night. What dark magic is this that allows such a sharp blade to be so smooth and effective in such an aggressive razor? I will say that the Pony and Route 66 were a fantastic combination. I haven't pulled the pony out of the stable for awhile and was curious how it would do. I may have found the perfect brush for Route 66. It was the fastest lather I think I've gotten from it and that's saying something because it isn't hard to lather in the first place. All in all - the Feather and Fatip is a combo I would highly recommend to those with enough experience to handle them both. Neither is a great choice for a brand new shaver, but once you have basic technique down, this is a combo that you wouldn't go wrong with.
