Nice shave this morning with Route 66 Barbershop Hop. Went back to the I1 injector after several shaves with the PAL Adjustable. The I1 is so nimble and efficient. I really enjoy shaving with it. Superb lather from Route 66 today as expected. Overall a really nice shave.

So, we're coming down to the end of the NEW/7 o'clock Green Focus shaves. Today was Trumper's Limes shave cream topped off with Canoe AS. Alum was a little hot on the jawline. Still a very nice two passer. The Voskies are going to have their work cut out for them to surpass the boys from St. Petersburg. To be fair after the Voskies, I'm gonna run the GSB's through again. Have a happy Thursday.

One of the hardest parts of doing a focus is to stay focused. Once you get a little proficient, it is easy to wale away at yourself like you are shaving with a Tech. The last few shaves, I have really made an effort to slow down and pay attention to what I am doing, and how I am doing it. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Today's effort landed me a DFS+ that has me feeling my face over and over. The alum told me I am right on track.

I am really starting to appreciate the 1/2 DE platform. I appreciate the smaller head size compared to the AC blades. I need to revisit them in my IBC, to see if the length of the blade holder is as much of a hindrance as I felt it was, earlier on in my focus.

Ogallala is an aftershave that leaves your face feeling SO good, even in dry weather. Not even thinking about a balm today. Plus my wife likes it, so how about a round on me?

Continuing my focus on hard to lather soaps.
Mitchell's Wool Fat
I soaked Jayaruh 94 with a whipped dog high mountain badger knot and then shook & squeezed dry. I loaded this brush and moved to the serbiachi bowl for lathering. I've come to realize that different soaps lather differently. The MWF came out in a nice foam with peaks which did not dissipate at all once on my face. The Mysitc Water soap that I have also been using for this focus turned into more of a creamy lather than a foam. Knowing the characteristics of different soaps is definitely a good thing. That way when using the product you can work toward the appropriate finished product. For example, if I were to work the Mystic water into a foam, it would be too thin and if I were to keep loading the MWF until it was more creamy, it would have too much soap and clog up my razor.

Growing up near Chicago I have a dim memory of that winter was like. It never smelled as good as your soap scent descriptions. Thank you for sharing!

Brush: Floppy Chinese Pure Badger
Cream: KMF fragrance-free

Not too much to talk about today. Out of curiosity, I pulled out the cheap, floppy Chinese badger brush that I mostly use for shave sticks and travel to see how it would do with the KMF. Ended up using the "barber grip" on the brush and got a nice lather from the KMF. I've lost count of the number of shaves on this blade, but it still seems to be going strong. All told, a DFS and a great start to the day.

All I can think of is that recently posted clip of Bruce Wayne shaving with a DE and the voice of the late Ted Knight saying, "Meanwhile at stately Wayne Manor..."

Seems I've been neglecting an important maintenance procedure. I've been rinsing, wiping the handles of soap scum, hanging to dry. Assuming shampoo is detergent rather than soap it would clean differently. That DaVinci product IS soap but the reviews read well. I've suggested the shampoo/conditioner restore to folks with vintage knots. Should take my own advice!

I also use @clint64 method. It seems to have worked well.

There you go setting the bar higher. I like the tri-part collage.
The IBC seems like the Swiss Army Razor for the all blades design.
