New to me. This no number 400 is in beautiful shape.
A very heart felt thank you to @clint64. It is a lather monster with the Omega Pro 49 knot.

I hope you enjoy it for a long time to come. I was pleased to give both my Amigos a 400 each.

I got in an Omega Pro 48 today and replaced the Maggard synthetic in my Jayaruh #61 Wooden 400. Although a nice knot, the Maggard knot was not the knot for the 400. Now the brush is more authentic. I was able to use the Maggard in another build.

I like the choice of wood, nice contrast to the knot.

I am using my Jayaruh #61 this week. It is working out very well. I may end up using it all month.

How can I get the knot out? I want to clean it up and put a badger knot in it.

I went to Harbor Freight, purchased a pair of strap wrenches to unscrew ferrule from bottom of handle.

A kitchen knife trimmed off the old bristles. Then I used a flat blade screwdriver to break up the old knot. The glue is hard and brittle.

I bought the strap wrenches at Harbor Freight and tried them on a recently purchased 400. It worked so well I couldn't believe it. Thank you whoever posted that idea! And, I found out that the brush I bought had no number even though I purchased it as a #4. I've put knots in several 400 handles before but never actually unscrewed the top of the brush which probably would have been a good thing. Anyways the brush handle most recently polished up with MOTHERS MAG & ALUMINUM polish so well there was no sanding required. It is by far the nicest and least marked up handle I have had so far! Even though I purchased a 400 with like new bristles. I would post a picture of the before knot and the after hand rubbing/polishing if I could figure out how to do so. But, assuredly, the handle is very, very new looking! I can't imagine a better shaped handle for a shaving brush IMHO? Bowl, face or hand works great!!!

How to post a photo tutorial.

First take the photo. Then get the photo onto your computer. If using a digital camera or smart phone,a cord will let you move the file. From a phone/camera you can e-mail the photo to yourself. Remember where you put the digital file because the next thing is to click this button below labeled "Upload a File".
That will open a window for you to choose the file to be posted.

Choose the photo to be posted, and if it's not too large (must me less than 1 megabyte?) double click on it. Below your post composing window a little picture of your photo will appear. You can choose to include either a thumbnail like I did above, or a full sized image. Have the blinking cursor in the place where the image is to be posted before you click the "insert" button.
If you'd like to try this there is a POST TESTING area. There is also a Plan B option - If you have a smart phone, install the Tapatalk App. Then you can upload photos straight from your phone. The App will autosize your photos.

And, using your first method I it worked. Thanks, now to get the camera and take a few pictures!
