Began a Sweeney Todd sample today. Interesting, complex blood orange/citrus scent. Quite enjoyable. Excellent lather again by using the dry brush method. Put a little water directly on top of the soap and then begin lathering with a dry synthetic brush. That has produced some exceptional lather for the past few shaves. Great result today and nice complementing scent with Stirling Piacenza.

    Have a great day!

Fine, fine lather this morning. Well-hydrated and bountiful. I'm continuing the method of putting some water on top of the sample in the bowl and then begin loading with a dry brush. I added a little water as I loaded, both directly on the soap (just a few drops) and then into the middle of the brush with a tiny stream of running water from the faucet. It made superb lather. As always it was slick, conditioning, and wonderful to shave with.

Nice shave everything considered. The G8 is a great little razor and is inline with the other effective Schick injectors. Have a great day!

  10. Clint , I love barber pole handles and yours is very nice. Who makes that one ?
  11. Love the @Jayaruh brush Perry. So do you find yourself preferring the softer synthetics or the ones with a little scritch to them?

  13. The softer synthetics appeal to me a little more. I can get a little scritch from a badger or boar brush when necessary! I really liked my Satin Tip Purest brush but my little boy (2 years old) grabbed it off the counter one day and I haven't seen it since. No clue where it went!
  14. I love that brush too! Maggard and Italian Barber are now both selling inexpensive brushes with the same knot in them.

  16. Thank you. It is a Windrose handle out of the UK. If you google search for Windrose handles on Ebay his listing will pop up. He makes handles in various styles from mild to wild and various price points from $20 on up.

  20. I've been following this thread since you Gents started it. I want to start using soaps as well as creams. I have a couple of pucks of Aramis soap. I'm using one as a practice aid. Anyway, I got home from work today and decided to order some Rum Runner soap. I'm thinking of using it in February as part of the Focus I will be doing for the Parker 99r I got unexpectedly from my neighbor. I also after reading up on it here and other places, ordered a Omega 10098 brush. Looking forward to using both next month.
