I know y'all are tired of hearing it......but the G8 was excellent again today. So smooth and comfortable. Nice shave with terrific lather from Route 66 Sweeney Todd. Really smooth and fantastic all around.

    Have a great day!

Loaded a Personna into Supply SE, very easy!. However, though smooth on 3 dot plate, not a very close Shave. Will give it a few more goes.[IMG]

  8. The General shaves beautifully for me, apart from me not finding the right angle around the chin !

Back to the I1 today. Wow - so smooth! I was really liking the G8 and then I return to another favorite and my allegiances begin to be questioned. The I1 is terrific and provided a great shave today. Hard to beat Route 66 as well. Nice way to start the day.

    Have a great Friday!

I did two passes the Genco Straight which gave me a shave I could get by with, but I did a clean-up pass with the Enders Speed Shaver. I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. No cuts. That completes shave number six with a straight.

  15. Very nice shave with the Hussy/Feather AC Pro but she couldn't quite finish, losing her stuff in the same area on the back of my head as the Supply SE and DFS won't do. Shake Sharp for the save.

  16. Hi everyone, good morning. Today's shave was what I would call an all-American shave. Just for fun, and to see if I had enough American Made products to complete this shave. So here we go-

    Gem Clogpruf Micromatic SE razor.
1940's Gem reversible blade. ( two sided!).
1950's Ever Ready 500 PBT badger brush.
    WSP Fougere Noir shaving soap.
    Vintage English Leather as splash.
    Vintage English Leather cologne.

I had fun putting together the components for this shave. As far as I could tell, all these products were made in the USA. The Ever Ready brush is a favorite of mine. It has the original knot in it after all these years. And it is very soft. An excellent brush. These blades are pretty cool too. Imagine the paradox of the Single Edge Double Edge blade! Barkeep, I'll have one of what they were drinking!!! The Clogpruf Gem razor is also a favorite of mine. Much more user friendly than the OC version. All in all, I had a two pass BBS in the span of 15 minutes. Thanks for looking at my post, and have a great day!

  18. I have a GEM 1912 Damaskeene that I absolutely adore. I picked it up during a 30 day shavette focus. February is looking to be a SE focus. I like that razor so much that I picked up two more 1912's off of eBay today: one for a friend interested in wet shaving, and one as a backup for myself. Along with my Schick G1, February looks to have some great shaves a-comin'.

  19. Shake Sharp didn't reach it's lofty legendary status for nothing! :happy088:
  20. Which 1912s did you win off of da-bay. You know, each generation had different idiosyncrasies...most making them endearing...

Your Damaskeene for example, was the smoothest and feels very mild while removing whiskers in a more agressive fashion than it feels like....Whenever I used one of mine, I would ALWAYS be surprised when I rinsed my face from how close it had just shaved...Felt like I had forgotten to load a blade...lol!

The Ever Ready 1912 was one of the more agressive 1912s, but very smooth at the sametime. I loved it. I could always feel the blades edge against my skin, but it never bit...This Tiger had Teeth! But was a real pussy cat.

Which ones you waitin on! :char039:
